Chapter 31
Judy Nick was planning on killing me, and she looked determined. Her words sounded cold and emotionless, frightening me more than if she had screamed. There was a calmness about her as if her mind had already played out the actions she planned to take. She came to a stop and watched me as if waiting to see what I would do next.
Instead of turning and running blindly, I took in the details of Judy’s appearance, trying to see if she had a weapon. Glancing around, I analyzed what I could use as a weapon to protect myself. There were a few solid branches lying on the ground waiting to be picked up and wielded as a weapon. I already knew that she could bludgeon someone to death, because that’s what she did to Isabelle. I needed to make sure I didn’t come to the same fate.
