Epilogue We sat under the gazebo in my garden and felt blessed to all be together. We had been through so much, but it only strengthened old relationships and created new friendships that would last forever. I looked around at my friends and family, grateful that we had come through all of this safely. As if reading my mind, Peter put his arms around my shoulders. But I pulled away. "We don't have to pretend anymore, Peter," I whispered, sadness lacing my voice. " I'm not pretending, Mac," he whispered back.
