Chapter 29 For me, the drive out to The Groves was something I’ve always enjoyed. The route follows the coast as it turns into the Florida wilderness. I love coming out here, and I always had, ever since I was a little girl. Just as my parents had when they were children. Back then, not only were there orange groves to visit and freshly picked sweet juicy fruit to enjoy, but also alligator wrestling hosted by the local Native American tribe in their full costumes. If you were lucky, you could observe the bee keepers harvest the honey from the hives. Once you’ve sampled this distinctive honey, you were more than willing to endure a few bee stings.
