Party Like No Other

Thank goddess I wore sneakers because it’s kinda a far walk at night. “You guys we are almost there.” Says Stass. There is music ahead I can hear it. I don’t feel much from Angel but I know she is with me. We continue to walk out into the opening where Tammy’s shop is. It’s closed but the party is a bonfire in the woods behind it. Actually right by where Ryder took me.. Hmm not much of a secret place if everyone knows about it right? Maybe that’s just me. “Alright ladies I see there is so many people. Are we ready?” Stass says again and Raquel is quiet as ever I think she is mostly nervous. Being an omega and out of her comfort zone but that’s alright I got her back. “Ready as we ever will be. Right Raquel?” I say including her and she says yes happily. I hope it’s boosted her energy up. Wow this place is crowded. Definitely not just Emerald wolves. This is the beach Ryder took me too once a peaceful scene now bumping loud music and a huge bonfire.

Drinks everywhere. People swimming, surfing in the dark, chatting all over this place. I feel excited but a bit anxious. I just follow Stass for a minute. Making her way towards the middle I stop at the drinks and tell her to take Raquel I will find them in a moment. They walk away and I go up to where there is a bartender in a hut. How did they get this here? So cool. I order a rum and cok.e to start. I look around for my friends seeing many unfamiliar faces. Some staring, some not. One in particular staring at me from a ways away. His captivating light grayish blue eyes and short curly black hair. He’s got muscle and a short beard so definitely older. He also looks dangerous in all black but in a very tempting way. Angel has no objection to me saying that and I’m surprised. I hold my gaze for a moment longer letting him think he might have my interest then I turn away and continue finding the girls. I walk around drinking my drink. Werewolves don’t get drunk on normal alcohol. Most packs have it made especially for the wolves to get a buzz on.

I see the girls and they are with the guys. Blake, Karson and Ryder.. I should have known. Stass and Blake are siblings for goddess sake. The three of them look at me like little kids on Christmas. I just ignore it walking straight to the girls. “Alright so they have a bartender in a hut back there. See my drink! Want some?” I ask them and they giggle each taking a sip. “You look beautiful Haze.” I hear Ryder say behind me and I thank him not sparing to look I just continue looking at Stass who is giving me a stern look. “Can we talk somewhere for a minute please.” I hear him say. I roll my eyes at Stass then down my drink before turning around to face Ryder. “Sure! Why not. All anyone wants to do around here lately is talk to me so let’s go.” I say throwing my arms up being a sarcastic a.ss.hole towards everyone and walk in a direction away from the party. Ryder quickly catches up to me. I turn around facing him. He stops short and almost trips.

“Well? What is it?” I ask him being straight forward. “What are you doing here and dressed like that?” He asks me and I can hear the tone of his voice. He isn’t happy with my outfit choice. “Oh this old thing? It’s nothing.” I say rubbing my hands up then down my sides. He steps forward trying to claim dominance but I step forward as well. Challenging him. “Buttercup.” He sighs. “Don’t call me that Ryder. If I want to have fun tonight then so be it. You think you can challenge me and I would accept defeat? Who do you take me for? Now excuse me while I have fun! I suggest you do that same!” I shout at him chest to chest before I walked away. He stood there speechless.. Tonight’s about me letting lose.

I wonder how many wolves here will be going to the academy. Probably all of them if not most. I wander back in search of the girls and they are dancing by the DJ. It’s pretty crowded. f***k it. I walk over to them and they tell me to throw my shoes with theirs. I do and join them dancing and singing. Few songs go by and the three of us are shaking our hips to Shakira that’s when I felt two large hands grip on either sides of my hips. I turned my head slightly and saw his grayish blue eyes. I smirked then turned back around and we danced a few songs together. I could feel Ryders death stare most of the time but I didn’t care. This guy was the mysterious kind I would have hoped to have. Why not have a little fun. I know my limits. Although his hands touching me is hot enough to make a woman cra.ck. The next song is slow paced. I stop dancing and go to move back to the bar when I feel his hand grab my wrist lightly. I turn my attention back to him and he smiles. “I wanted to know if I could have this dance cherry.” He says in a deep voice and I swear I wet myself. He’s a god. “Uh why not.” I say to him smiling. He takes my hand and pulls me close to him. He is around Ryders height so I am looking up and he is looking down. Our faces close enough. I chuckle and look away. “Is there something funny cherry?” He asks me. “Actually yes. I don’t normally do this kind of thing. Also my names not cherry.” I say looking back at his face in his mesmerizing eyes. “What is your name.” He says and it’s more demanding then asking for it. His aura does feel strong.

“Let me guess.. You are an Alpha?” I ask him with a smirk. “What if I told you I was.” He said moving his face slowly closer to mine. “I would hardly say anything at all.” I reply and he moves his head down further to my neck. I close my eyes and my breathing picks up slightly as he pulls me in closer. My breast grazing his chest. He softly growls in my neck and I feel his hot breath. Our moment is broken the second Stass tugs my arm. I break free of my mystery man’s arms and he just looks at me puzzled.. His eyes go to Stass then back to mine. “Hazel.. my name is Hazel Kade. Thank you for all that fun.” I say smiling face to face with him again. “Ares Scratch. It’s been a pleasure.” He says kissing my hand. “Do you have to leave?” He asks me and I look at Stass. Pleading with my eyes to not take me from this. She shakes her head. “No I just need to talk to her about something quickly.” She says and I nod my head following her for a moment. “Who is that hunk you have been grinding all night?!” She cheerfully asks me and I just laugh. “Wait isn’t Ry..” She was going to blurt out but I put my hand up.. “No it’s complicated and I am not sure who he is but I’m drawn to him somehow.. Wait where is Raquel?!” I say frantically looking around. “She is actually with Blake. They hit it off so she’s in great hands.” She says calmly smiling and I smile too. “And who have you met tonight?” I ask her. “Literally no one yet.. I have been standing around with Karson and Ryder watching you dance with Thor over here.” She says to me. Both of us start laughing.

I turn my head to see if Ares is still there. Yup he is. He is now joined by a man I’m presuming to be his Beta. About an inch or so shorter than Ares and this guy has short curly black hair with green eyes. Very handsome. I look back at Stass and she has already spotted him. “Introduce me please.” She says begging me. I laugh at her. “Okay but promise me you won’t get crazy and ruin my night. He seems like a good guy.” I say to her seriously. “I promise.” She says crossing her heart. She hooks her arm in mine and we walk back over to where Ares is.. “Who’s your friend Ares? I didn’t introduce mine earlier but this is my best friend Anastasia..” I go to finish but Ares’s friend does first.. “Hawkins. Anastasia Hawkins in the flesh. Excuse me being so forward I’ve heard so much about you and yet you are even more gorgeous then described.” Axel says and Ares chuckles. “Nice to meet you Anastasia. I’m Ares Scratch, this here is my pal Axel Stevens.” He says and Stass’s mouth dropped. “Wait of the Onyx pack?” She asks and they nod. “Actually future Alpha Ares and Beta myself.” Axel says proudly. “That’s awesome. You guys have come far. Why?” I ask.

“This party is always hosted once enrolling into the Academy. We have ours here so Onyx, Emerald and Pearl. While Sapphire, Amethyst, Diamond and Citrine celebrate in Citrine. It’s traditional.” Ares says. “That’s really interesting. You both are new to the Academy?” I ask him. They both laugh. “No cherry. We’ve been there for three years now. This coming year is our last.” He says watching for my reaction. I don’t give him much. I just smile. “Wow I’m in the presence of a veteran? I am simply honored.” I tease Ares. He smiles. “I’m taking Hazel for a walk. If you need me Ax just link me.” He says to Axel and I smile at Stass who equally returns it. “You got it Alpha. Me and this little lady are gonna chat for a bit too.” He says and we walk away. I follow Ares’s speed which isn’t fast at all. We are just walking by. He takes me to the bonfire and we sit towards the back. Far enough from everyone but still able to get warmth off the fire.. I stare at the flames dancing. Just breathing.

“Tell me about yourself beautiful.” He says looking at me and I look from the fire to him. Locking eyes. “There’s not much. Typical Beta’s daughter, family oriented, my education isn’t to mess with and I make it known that. I won’t give that up. I believe for the future female generations to come. That a she wolf can have the brains, beauty and brawn’s because who doesn’t love kicking a**s and taking names?” I say to him. He is smiling ear to ear. “You definitely are those three things. All kinds of woman you are Hazel.” He says intrigued by everything I have to say on the subject. What a good night it’s turning out to be.
