What A Night

Dancing the night away. Stass’s pink spaghetti strap dress flowing perfectly with her movements. Eliza comes over to us but she’s no longer with Ryan, instead three broad men standing behind her. Stass and I look at each other before looking back to Eliza. “Guys! Come here I want you to meet some of my pack members. It’s kinda loud here.” She said giggling and we both nod following her with the guys a little away from the music. “This blondie is my older brother Noah pack Beta, our Alpha Sawyer Alan and our pack Gamma Riley Thompson.” Eliza said and I’m surprised. She never mentioned siblings.

“Hi nice to meet you Noah, Sawyer and Riley. I am Hazel Kade of Emerald pack, my father is current Beta and this blondie is my bestie Anastasia Hawkins also of Emerald pack. Her father is our gamma.” I said smiling at these men. They are gorgeous after all. Literally I have not met one wolf who wasn’t. The werewolf genes are just so intense everyone is good looking in their own way. Noah has the same features of Eliza, you can definitely tell they are related. Sawyer has dirty blonde hair with green eyes and Riley is a redhead with green eyes and freckles.

“Blake’s little sister? Nice to meet you beautiful girls.” Sawyer says reaching to shake both our hands which we both respond to. He must be seeing if we are mates. I kindly smiled. “Yeah that would be me. He will be here when school is back fully in motion.” She said smiling looking around as she sees Axel with Ares walk up to our group. “This is my mate Axel Stevens of Onyx.” She said turning proudly smiling at him as he reaches her and kissed her. “Axe, Ares, good to see you guys. Hope everything is going well with that incident. My pack is on your side if you need extra assistance.” Sawyer says just as an Alpha would to the guys. “Thanks man I appreciate that. Everything has been taken care of. I didn’t know you had a younger sister Noah. She’s my neighbor along with this spitfire. Not to worry I won’t let anything happen to her on my floor.” He said with major confidence as he dabbed up Sawyer, Noah and Riley. Noah nodded his head. “Yeah El usually is pretty quiet but I can sense her coming out of her shell while she’s here and if her roommate is a spitfire then I’m happy to have her in the watches of you. It’s truly appreciated. Sucks being on the third floor. I can’t monitor her all the time.” Noah said and now I see why Eliza is so quiet. He’s definitely an overprotective older brother. I see her roll her eyes. “Alright guys I am standing right here.. I’m a big girl after all.” She said with her hands on her hips and all the guys chuckle. “El that has nothing to do with it. Unmated females are always on watch by others especially if they are high ranked. We just want you girls to be safe.” Sawyer said looking at her and she rolled her eyes again. “Well I don’t mind you guys looking out for me but I can certainly take care of myself. I don’t need anyone to do it besides I got Eliza’s back no matter what. I’d kill any male who’d try me in that way.” I said feeling something bubbling in me and it must be my aura releasing slightly for the first time so I make sure to stand nice and tall smirking as I watch Pearl packs reaction.. Thanks Angel! That was the coolest thing. I owe you a million times over. I hope we can reconnect very soon.

Noah and Riley are speechless while Sawyer smirks at me. “That’s the spitfire I warned you guys about.” Ares says with a laugh which everyone responds in a laugh. “Not going to lie Hazel, I am quite impressed. Can’t wait to see what your wolf will look like with that kind of aura.” Sawyer says smiling intrigued. “Guess you’ll just have to wait. That was just a taste of what’s to come.. Now enough of this seriousness, can we just have fun tonight? Who’s up for more dancing?” I say wiggling my eyebrows. Eliza jumps up and down excitedly, Stass and Axel pass on it as they go off their own way. Sawyer and Ares decide to chat a bit more so Noah and Riley head to dance with us for now. I dance a little with Noah and Eliza with Riley.

“I appreciate you being there for my sister. Not all roommates get along and I’m not going to sugar coat it I was nervous she would be stuck in her shell all year but I’m happy she has you and I know she will break out into her own person this year.” Noah says kindly leaning his head down a little towards me so I can hear him. No one officially knows I have my wolf so the gesture was kind of him. “I really like your sister. She is awesome and we hit it off right away. She deserves all the friends. I can see that you care a lot for her but you don’t need to worry she will achieve great things in her lifetime. Let her spread her wings.” I said to him with a smile. “I know I’m too overprotective of her most of the time. I can’t help that she is my baby sister but I will let her as you said spread her wings.” He said teasingly making me laugh. “Baby steps.” I said with a smile and he smiled back. “Sorry if this comes off rude but why are you single? If your this wonderful I’m surprised no one has you coupled up.” He asked me boldly and I laughed again. “Funny you say that.. I’m sorta in a relationship with my potential mate. All my life he has been around and everyone has always said we would be mates. We just got together officially and I do love him but I just don’t know. His birthday is in a few days so we will find out for sure.. Uh can I be honest with you Noah?” I asked him rubbing the back of my neck nervously. He nods his head continuing to listen to me. “I’m not ready to be someone’s mate just yet.. I just recently found out I was adopted as a child and that I might even have come from Pearl. My parents found me close to your pack as an infant.. I guess I just want to figure out who I am before becoming someone’s mate.. Do you think that makes me wrong for thinking like that?” I said looking into his eyes. Hazel just like my name. Beauty radiates through them.

At first he looks surprise but quickly goes back to being relaxed. “Wow. I wasn’t expecting that. Most she-wolves can’t wait to be mated. I understand though. You deserve to know the truth about your past. But the real question is.. Do you think it’ll be worth opening that book? What if it’s not what you wanted to find out?” He asked me sincerely looking into my eyes. “I just have a feeling deep down that I need to know at any and all costs. My world has been turned completely upside down in the last week. That’s honestly why I came here today because I couldn’t handle anything else from my pack..” I said and I know it sounded awful because he instantly gave me a big hug. Something I feel like a big brother would do. Which made me smile and he released me looking in my eyes again. “Everything will happen when you are ready. Don’t rush things. Just like I tell Eliza, take one day at a time and if you need answers from the Pearl pack you got us now and we would help you figure it out. I gotta get going for a bit there’s a she-wolf that I promised a dance to and by the jealous look on her face she’s done waiting on me.” He laughed giving me another big hug. “Thank you Noah. Your like the brother I’ve never had.” I said smiling as we broke apart. “Now you’ve got me!” He shouted smiling wide as he walked away. Eliza walked over to me and I see Riley also went his own way. “How are you feeling?” She asked me. “Not bad. Your brother gave me some good advice so I’m going to let that marinate for a bit. He’s a really cool guy.” I said smiling at her. She smiled proudly. “Yes he is! Should we head back to our room?” She asked me and I debate for a minute not seeing any of our other friends around right now I nod my head to her. “Yeah let’s go watch a movie in our comfy pjs. I’m ready to get out of these jeans.” I said to her with a smile. I loop my arm into hers and we walk through the crowd. Reese sees us. “You ladies good?” He asked. “Yeah we are gonna call it a night. Breakfast tomorrow?” I asked him. “Definitely. Want me to walk you guys to the dorm?” He asked us with a smile. What a gentleman. “No you go have a good time, we will be safe I promise no pit stops.” I said holding my fingers up to cross them. He chuckled. “Alright, see you beauties in the morning!” He shouts blowing us a kiss while he walked back over to his friends. “He is something else.” Eliza said laughing and I nodded laughing too.

We continue walking out of where the party was and back into the school. It’s quieter in the building since now everyone has made their way outside but there’s plenty of horn.y wolfs trying to get it on with each other in every hall. Eliza and I just shake our heads chuckling as we get to the main lobby and up the staircase getting closer to our dorm we start to hear muffled voices as if they were arguing but now trying to be silent so no one can really hear which would work for someone wolf-less but in this case where Eliza and I both have our wolves we can still hear parts of the argument. It sounds like the girl is really upset and the guy is well being a guy.. Getting to our floor I’m shocked to see the same she-wolf who was the waitress from the restaurant that Ares took me to in his pack and of course himself standing by his door. It seems he is now removing her arms from around his neck since he saw Eliza and I walking down the hall. I avoid eye contact with either of them passing by. “Isn’t that your new little pet Ares? The one you tried to make me jealous with by bringing her to OUR table during my shift?” The she-wolf says and I have had just about enough bullish.it. Eliza opens our door and I give her a slight push into our apartment before I turn towards Ares and his sl.ut. She seems proud of herself and he looks beyond shocked that I even turned my attention to them.

“First of all no one plays me. I belong to no one and for your information him and I are friends.. Correction. Were friends.. Don’t try and start shi.t with me b.itch I’m not the one. You two have a good night.” I said looking at the sl.ut who is speechless and full of anger. Not even sparing Ares another look before walking into my dorm and slamming my door shut locking it. I lean my back against the door and close my eyes. Ugh how could I be so stupid?! Why am I even upset?! He’s an Alpha for fuck.s sake and even though I thought I felt something for him that was a mistake.. I hear them yelling for a few seconds before I heard her stomping away and him instantly knocking on our door. “Hazel please let me explain..” He said softly against the door before a few minutes went by and he knocked again. “Please Hazel! She is delusional!” He shouted and I opened my eyes to see Eliza watching me with a worried expression. I just shake my head at her.

“Go home Ares.” I said to him through our door trying to not sound hurt by this. “Hazel please just open the door and talk to me. Please..” He said with so much emotion not hiding any of his hurt. “I don’t want to hear anything you have to say or see you again!” I shouted back to him sounding all sorts of broken like the moron I am then walking away from the door to my roomie who had her arms open wide to comfort me. After a few minutes of me crying we break apart hearing his door slam hard. Her and I look at each other for a moment as if he had broken our wall too after slamming his door. “Why don’t you wash up, I will make you some tea and we can still watch that movie if you want?” She said sweetly. I wiped my tears. “I’m just going to bed. I’m sorry about what just happened. I will explain everything tomorrow.” I said to her giving her another hug. “Should I be worried he will break our door down?” She says in my ear and I laugh breaking apart from her again. “No. He wouldn’t do that.” I said to her and walked into my room. I forgot nothing is really unpacked so I start to make my bed and put some clothes away. My phone rings and I see it’s Ryder.. Ugh I don’t want to have a conversation right now but he is my mate and it’s not fair as to how I treated him tonight. He would be furious.. I grab my phone and lay on my bed before answering it.

“Hey buttercup, you settling in okay? I figured I wait to call you.” He said sweetly and it broke my heart. Having feelings for him and whatever it is I’m feeling towards Ares.. I have to snap out of it. It’s so disrespectful and unlike me. Angel give me any kind of sign please I’m begging you.. “Baby you there?” Ryder says again regaining my attention. “Hey, yes I’m here sorry just really tired. Today has been a long day. It’s been fun I can’t wait for you and Karson to be here too.” I said back to him. “Me too baby. Your coming home tomorrow afternoon? Anastasia talked to Blake earlier saying her mate will drop you two off.” He said and I remembered tomorrow is Karsons birthday and party.. “Yes that’s right babe. We will be there.” I said with a yawn. “I can’t wait for the following day since it’ll be my birthday. I just want to spend it with you. I don’t care about some party.” He said and it made me miss him more. “I can’t wait either. I need to go to bed Ryder I’m exhausted and it’s a long trip back home. I will see you then?” I asked him, “Okay no problem just wanted to hear your voice buttercup. I love you sleep well.” He said sweetly. “I love you too babe goodnight.” I said back to him before hanging up. I get up in search of a top to change into. I take my outfit off and put my shirt on before turning my light off and getting into bed. Within a few minutes sleep takes over and I’m out for the night.
