(Alex’s POV)
We had Nír and Willow’s induction ceremony last night. Everything went well and almost immediately Nír was able to open a mind-link. She was so excited about it that it was actually adorable.
After their induction, we had a small party in the ballroom. Just snacks and drinks along with some music and dancing. Nothing special, really. But the kids enjoyed it.
Today, however, is not as pleasant. “Are you ready, babe?” I asked April as I took her hand. “Not really, no. I hate this aspect of our job. And I really hate that people like her don’t know what a gift they’ve been given when they get their second chance.”
