(Alex’s POV)
If I’m being honest, I really didn’t think we’d find anything new when April suggested doing this. I was just glad to be getting out of the territory for a little bit. But this turned out to be well worth the ride.
“Well, I’ll take these shavings to the lab first thing in the morning and get back to you with the findings as soon as I know something. I’m curious why this is so important, though?” Carter said as he finished up taking the shavings which he deposited in a large vial with a cap for safe keeping.
“It’s not important, per se. It’s just something of a puzzle we’re trying to figure out. These medallions are connected somehow to a couple of large wall hangings and some paintings we came across, and we’ve been trying to put the pieces together ever since.” April tol
