Go to Max. We need to see if we’re right. I told Raine as I paced around my room.
My anxiety levels are through the roof right now. I felt like something bad was on the horizon, and I was worried it had something to do with Alex.
Okay, A. I won’t be long. She no sooner had the words out when I felt her leave me. This is always an odd experience, because when she’s with Max, I feel this weird void in my mind. In addition to that, my gifts dim by about half. The only thing that doesn’t seem to be affected is the royal mind-link.
My theory is that the link stays strong because it’s a defensive mechanism. But if I’m being honest, we’re not sure why it happens like that. We’re just glad it does.
