Watching April fight gave Grandpa Noah the opportunity to see her for himself and lord almighty how he adored her even without actually knowing her. Those years were rough on Grandpa and Grandma Amaris.
They missed Aunt Crystal and her family so much. And they had to mourn Winter’s supposed death on their own. I don’t remember that, though. I was way too young. But I do remember how Grandpa would talk about April all the time.
Watching her fight was great and all but the drawback, especially for Grandpa, was that we couldn’t actually see her face. See, MMA junior fighters, in the league she was in, have to wear masks at all times to protect their identities.
I didn’t know it at the time, but the league was co-sponsored by Tyler and the mask rule was his doing. H
