(Winters POV)
“Hi Cassy, how’s it goin’?” I asked as I walked across the front courtyard toward the castle. I was just getting back from morning training. I do my best not to show it, but I really do miss April at training. She always managed to make such a laborious task fun somehow.
My Dad has that knack too. Me? Not so much. I try, but I just can’t seem to get the warriors as invested as Dad or April tend to. And it doesn’t help any that out of our gang, it’s just me, Kendrick, and Jake doing it right now. All the other Future Ranked Officers are either away on missions or have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from joining.
