(Max’s POV)
Flashback to that day at the hospital…
I remember Jake came into the room and I felt odd. Like I was being pushed back by some sort of darkness. It left me disoriented and with a feeling of déjà vu.
It was a few minutes later when I heard raised voices. The first was Alex shouting, “You can’t do that! I forbid it!” Then a few minutes later I heard Jake laughing, only it wasn’t a happy laugh, it was cold and callus as he said, “I can’t wait for the day when you get your a*s handed to you. I just hope I’m around to see it. Goodbye… ALPHA.”
