(April’s POV)
After my conversation with Jake, I decided to take a nap. I don’t know why, but my whole body was achy.
When I woke up again, I felt more well rested, thank the Goddess. But my body was still a little achy, so I decided on a nice hot shower to sooth my achy muscles. The shower did wonders for both my body and my mind.
I felt clearer and more focused. So I decided to hold a long-overdue conversation with Raine.
Hey, Rai? How are you holdin’ up? I began, then immediately cringed at my opening words. I’d been asked that so much these last two weeks that I was ready to start biting people’s heads off. I can’t imagine Raine feeling any differently.
I’m fine, A. You don’t need to worry about me. I may not like being away from our mate but I get that you need this time. Max e
