I was so relieved when Jake told me he was staying on as Future Beta. And to find out that it was April who pleaded our case for us? That was big. I don’t think Alex understands just how big!
He’s been too out of it since yesterday. Her leaving has really taken a toll on him. He also tells me that Max is refusing to speak to him, which I can tell you from experience is not easy to deal with.
Ajax hasn’t been exactly the most talkative of wolves these past few years. He can’t understand why I am so riddled with guilt and, because of that, we fight all the time. He doesn’t seem to suffer from any guilt, so I guess he doesn’t understand.
That’s not true, as*hole. I feel guilty, too. And I feel your guilt as well. But I refuse to run from it. I’m an Alpha, not an Omega.
