Ava's POV "you useless b***h,can't you do a simple task correctly" my stepmom yells. Sara Stone,the woman my dad married after my mom's death. My father,Robert Stone,the alpha of shadow creek pack hates me because I was the reason my mother died. He hates me for it even though he was cheated on her with sara on her when she was alive. He blames me and made me live worse than a slave,all the maids looks down on me although I am the alpha's daughter, I was not favoured,instead my stepsister got all the love and attention I always want. When I was little,I thought if I did my chored and behaved well I will get praised by my father but all I ever got was harsh scolding and punishment and eventually I give up trying to my father's approval. "Are you ignoring me" my stepmom asked with a tone of cruelty "Are you trying to put up an attitude with me, let's see how many more days you can go without eating". I kneel at her feet begging her "please,please I haven't eaten for a week please" She just looked at me at scoffed and told me to clean up the mess and wait in my quarter till am needed. As I drag my tired body to my room which contain only a mat to sleep,the walls covered in moss, damp and wet. The room void of any piece of furniture,it looks more like a prison than a place for the alpha's daughter, I shouldn't even consider myself an alpha's daughter anymore.As I lay on the mat to sleep at least that is the only thing to distract me from the rumbles of my stomach." I quickly wiped my tears away and enter." you must have heard what your stepmother said and I support her,you have been of no use to us and the pack is facing some difficulties".I started crying again, my mind racing,I screamed" I am your daughter too, why do you treat me like this",after those words left my mouth it was meet with a slap from my father,he looked at me and said" you are not my daughter, I have only one daughter and that is maya,you are just a slave who should be happy to even be alive".I cried even harder,my mind trying to figure out what I ever did to deserve this,why my own father hates me so much,I why I didn't died with my mother, why I was born to be a slave,why did the moon goddess give me such a fate.As I was lost, I felt someone hold me,I looked up to see a guard holding me," take her to her room and make sure she doesn't leave it.The guard drag me to my room and throw me away like I was infecting him with a strange disease. I crawled to my bed,laying on it sent shivers though me reminding me of when maya splashed me with water as I cried myself to sleep wondering how my life became like this. "Ava,Ava my baby wake up",I opened my eyes to see a strange woman in a white dress holding me. I immediately jumped off her, " Ava, my baby", "who are you and how do you know my name",I asked,the strange woman just cried and hugged me " I am your mother",I couldn't belive it my mother,the woman who give birth me." mom,mom" I said while crying,I hugged her tightly. crying she said " my love,u shouldn't be here, Vera will take u back",I looked at her" who is vera".She chuckled" your wolf of course,look behind you". As I turned,I saw a beautiful wolf with fur as white as the moonlight "She is beautiful" I said. My mother hugged me and said " please try to survive,escape from your father, Vera will help you, I don't want to see you suffer again,promise me that you will survive" . "I looked at my mother and tears welled up in my eyes " yes I will " I was woken up with pains in my body,I screamed in pain,my wolf told me to be calm. vera said " shifting for the first time is painful". As I screamed loudly due to the pain,the doors sudden burst open,the alpha,sara and maya with the guard were standing there looking at me. The alpha looked surprised and left. After my shift,I want to run and leave all my past behind but I was trapped,so I decided to escape at night. At night when everyone was asleep,even the guard at my door,I quietly left the room and ran out of the quarters.As I was close to leaving the pack, the happiness I felt was quickly lost as I saw the alpha infront of with sara and a few guard," you think you can escape,this is your life and you can never escape it". The guards dragged me back not to my quarter but to the underground prison meant for dangerous criminals.I egged and pleaded for them to spare me but to no avail.They locked me up and left,not long after someone brought food for me.i was wary but after not eating for weeks,I quickly devoured the food but I sudden felt a sharp pain in my head and my wolf screaming then went quiet. I called out to her but no respond. I panicked,yelling for vera to respond but all I got was a deafening silence and everything went black.
