Winter Devereaux has always felt safest in the water—until it nearly kills for her.

After a swim meet ends with her rival almost drowning, Winter discovers the truth her parents buried: she is adopted, powerful, and tied to an ancient prophecy as the Daughter of Water. When shadow wolves attack and a desperate escape throws her into the frozen realm of Winterheaven, she wakes among werebear warriors who may see her as either salvation or threat.

Their dangerous High Chief, Aaron Windermere, knows more about Winter than he admits—including the bond pulling them together. But with Shadows closing in, her parents trapped in magical sleep, and her own magic spiraling out of control, Winter must decide whether her emotions are a curse… or the only power strong enough to save them all.

Winter’s Awakening is a slow-burn romantasy of elemental magic, fated mates, deadly secrets, and a girl learning that destiny means nothing without choice.

Prologue
Before the Story Four young women, separated before they could know one another, carry the sleeping power of Water, Air, Earth, and Fire. On their eighteenth birthdays, each will be drawn beyond the human world into a realm shaped by her element—and toward a bond that promises destiny but demands choice. As the Veil between worlds begins to fail and ancient Shadows rise from forgotten oaths, the sisters must uncover the truth of their birth, find one another, and decide what they are willing to sacrifice. Their story begins with Winter, the first daughter to awaken. When Seed grows thin beneath the Veil, and Shadows drink where oaths have failed, four sleeping names shall stir and keep the old world breathing under sleep. First, Water wakes where grief is deep, to hold the truth the drowned things keep. Then Air shall rise through whispered halls, to name the lie before it falls. Earth shall root where blood was sown, and make the broken ground its own. Fire shall come with crown and flame, to seal the wound no fear may name. Mark not the heart before it chooses, bind not the soul the old law loses. No vow may claim what fear has chained, no fate may speak where choice remains. When four shall stand and four shall fall, the Veil shall hear the ancient call. Let love be named, but never owned; let truth be carried, not enthroned. For Water remembers, and Air reveals; Earth endures, and Fire seals. Bury the Seed in willing flame, and none who return shall rise the same.
