Behind The Nerds Facade

“Left hook!”   "Right hook!"   "Roundhouse!” my foot swung over his head as he ducked. “Again! Again! Faster! You're not going fast enough Yasmine!" uncle Ben shouted at me as I tried my best to keep up with him.   I am Yasmine, I just turned eight-teen I am a junior in wedge mount high. I live in Detroit Michigan. I am the smallest out of three I have two step twin sisters Jackie and Maybell they're both nineteen. My mother died after I was born when I was seven my father remarried to none other than Stephanie Maxwell the queen of gold diggers. She brought along with her, her wannabe queen bees of daughters. I tried to tell dad that she was just after his money, but he never listened.   My dad was a businessman which means we were loaded. Around the time the gold digger (Stephanie) and her two torments (Jackie and Maybell) came into my life I started to come home with Bruce's and scratches often since Jackie and Maybell along with their little group of followers would beat me up in school. Soon dad and uncle ben noticed, and they immediately started to teach me how to defend myself. I never really told them who was behind the beatings and they never bothered to ask. When I was fourteen my father passed away in a car accident.   Not soon after my father’s death, and not much to the gold digger's (Stephanie) liking we found out my father had left all his money to me. To say that Stephanie was furious was an understatement she went on a rampage when we arrived from the funeral. After that my two step monsters of sisters tried to beat me up, but no not this time I thought them a lesson they would never forget they wouldn't dare to lift a finger on me again after that day. But of course, in school they would still pick on me which was okay it helped me keep up with appearances.   You see in school I'm a nerd no not the kind with the big round glasses I do have glasses though I wear baggy t-shirts, sweaters, and sweats occasionally jeans. My wardrobe consists of only three colors black, gray and my favorite color blue, but that's only in school after school I go to the "gateway" it's a place where street fights are held. I found that place one day when Nick saw me fight two men that were trying to jump me he took me there and I've been going there ever since that day. I fought my way all the way to the top. I'm known as the knockout queen I wouldn't tell them my real name, so they gave me a nickname. Why? you may ask because if I did I would have people go up to my house or school to fight I'd like to keep it a secret since I'm a straight A student I wouldn't want to tarnish my reputation.
