643 Words
Terry's POV As I thought of what to do, I immediately heard a knock on my door and froze. Suddenly a masked man came into the office and then began to tell me of how stupid I was to take over from my dad. He didn't even wait for me to say anything before he pointed a g*n at my forehead and fired, immediately he fired the g*n, I jumped up from my bed in fright with my whole body soaked. it was all a dream. I began to rethink my decision of taking over Dad's company the next day. I then reassured myself of the fact that it was all a dream, and besides, the police were with me on this. I woke up the next morning and was determined to face my fears. The moment I stepped into the office, unlike in my dreams, I was given a warm welcome by everyone and then led to my office . Upon getting In, I let out breath I didn't realize I had been holding in. As I began to consider what to do next, a knock came on my door and I froze... Debby's POV I woke up the next morning and sat down on my bed confused on what to do. A few moments later, while I was staring at nothing in particular, mom walked In and greeted me. She asked how I was doing to which I replied that I was fine even though it felt so wierd being with her. She came so close and began to state the fact that we had not been too close and she knew it was her fault. She apologized for it and asked to be allowed to make up for the lost times, I only nodded and kept staring as this whole thing seemed so awkward. She suggested we took the day off to have fun and without even waiting for a response, she kissed my headed out to get dressed. That felt really wierd but at least I now had a plan for the day. Detective David's POV It was a Monday morning and surprisingly, I didn't feel like going to work, my daughter's absence was really taking a toll on me. I called into work stating that I needed to fix up somethings and would be reporting in late today. As I cruised around, I thought of where to go and then I came across the park where Abigail and I would always come to spend our weekend whenever I was free. I went in and kept looking around as the place was quiet being a Monday morning. I thought of the good old times I had together with my baby and wished I wasn't so tied up. I just felt so tired. As I looked ahead, I saw a young girl in her early twenties sitting beside a more mature woman, they seemed to be the only ones in here besides me. They didn't speak a word and it seemed so wierd as I and Abigail would talk until we got home and went to bed. As I looked more closely, I discovered that the girls face looked so familiar but I just couldn't place where we had met. She looked over to where I was and I quickly shifted my gaze away from her to avoid suspicions. I decided to focus my mind on the case ahead of me and also think of what I could do. As I thought on that, I knew it was time to resume duty at work. While driving, I kept thinking about the case and then it hit me, the girl was the one whose case I was supposed to be working on. The one whose father died, I guess that was her mother although they seemed so distant, I wonder why?
