Breezing wind, chirping birds: all of these were perfect. Life went on as if it will never end, not knowing that exactly 96 days later, there will be the initial strike: 'First Clash.' We call it 'The Doom.'
On the way to school, Hermes saw what he shouldn't, something that would cause miscalculations to his plan of saving humanity. He saw Diana.
Diana was an 18-year-old schoolgirl who was in the same grade and class as Hermes. Nevertheless, back in the old days, Hermes was too shy to talk to Diana. Things have changed by now. It was different.
"Hey, you're Hermes, right?" a voice called out.
As soon as Hermes looked back, there was a boy. A boy whose height is about 181cm, with broad shoulders and a muscular body. It was from Peter. It was the person who sacrificed himself for the hope of humanity. It was HIM.
"You're..." Hermes did not continue.
"Peter." Hermes and Peter both said at the same time.
"Wait, how did you know I'm Peter?" Peter asked Hermes with confused eyes.
"Long story. Anyways, we're probably going to be late. Better hurry up." Hermes replied.
Hermes knew almost everything about Peter. He was Hermes' best friend, and at the same time, Peter was his right hand in battles with the monsters. Hermes knew exactly what Peter would do in certain situations, and Hermes did not like those sacrificing personalities of Peter.
"Hmph... we're not late, I guess," Peter relieved Hermes with a pat on the back, "Don't tell me you are already tired after running for a few minutes?"
It was true. The body that Hermes teleported in was not the body that Hermes trained for days, weeks, and months. He needed to work out and train himself before anything to save the world from extinction.
"I guess I need to work out," Hermes answered Peter's question with laughter, unsure if that referred to the happiness of reunion of Peter and Hermes, or if it was a simple relief.
