Episode 3: Preparation

373 Words
It's already been a week since Hermes teleported from the past, and Hermes could not find any help nor plan anything ahead yet. The future was so incapable to resist and hard to believe. "Shoot, how am I going to get help from other people. Definitely they will send me to the mental hospital," Hermes murmured. January 5, 2021. 97 days left for the 'First Clash'. There was absolutely nothing pretty much that Hermes could do at the age of 18: he couldn't change anything too drastically on his own. Hermes knew that. Knock knock. "Hey, may I go in?" Hermes's mother asked. Hiding the whiteboards and papers where Hermes had his plan drew and written on, Hermes quickly transitioned to being a normal 'son' who did not know anything about the future. "Yes, mom. Come in." Hermes replied. Hermes's mother entered the room, and the sudden silence began. It was definitely awkward to get along with his mother for Hermes since he did see his mother die during the survival before the teleportation. "Son, did you prepare for tomorrow?" mother slowly asked. "What do you mean...," Hermes replied in confusion. January 8, 2021. What could that date mean? "It's your resume of classes tomorrow, son." the mother replied, tilting her head. That was right. Hermes was yet an adult, and he was a mere high-school student before the outbreak of the monsters. Truly enough, he had no reason to skip school; moreover, the reason for monster-caused extinction cannot persuade his mother of skipping school. "Um.. yeah. I just remembered. I'll get ready for school before I sleep tonight. Thanks for the reminder by the way." Hermes answered. "Well, good luck." the mother replied. The moonlight shone on the room of Hermes, and Hermes was finally doubting whether it was necessary for going to school for classes. Without questioning himself further, Hermes decided to find more evidence or help amongst the people in his school, whether that was meaningful or not. Hermes packed his bag for tomorrow and lied down in bed. "Things are not going as planned; it might be a tough 97 days ahead." Hermes sighed, thinking about the future that the Earth and humanity have to bear. January 7, 2021. OVER. Moving onto January 8, 2021, 96 days left for the 'First Clash' between humanity and the monsters.
