Trapped

"Nina you can do this, breath just breath...... yeah just like that, deep breaths." even though Lauriano said that he knew it wasn't easy for Nina, she is going through this pain, she'd know how it feels not him, no he isn't even going through the bits of it. But, that face, that pained expression said it all. "Lauriano I can't, no I think I will die...." Her voice was strained, water leaking out of her eyes. "If I die... just... just look after my baby" she gulped "Momma loves her....... Yes, tell her momma loves her and.... and will always love... love her." Holding her hand tight, Lauriano answered: "No, don't panic, you will be okay, nothing will happen to you." Hell, even he was panicking, but it was not the time to be scared. He's got to be strong for Nina, yes it's for her, for Nina and they'll be okay. Just fine. "Breath Nina, breath......... okay look at me......... Yeah do what I am doing, inhale........... exhale. Slowly, yes slowly." Just then the doctor came, Lauriano can't take this anymore "Doctor, I think she's ready now, please I can't see her in pain." Looking at Nina, checking if she's really ready the Doctor said: "Yes she is, well it's time now, you can stay here if you want to, Mr Fiscella." Looking back at Nina, the Doctor said "Okay Mrs Fiscella, I need you to push, take a deep breath and push. I will say three and you'll push, okay?" Nina nodded. "One, two, three, push......... relax. Again one, two, three, push........ relax." Nina gripped Lauriano's hand and as the number of pushes grew, her hold became tighter. Then they heard that, a sound which could make any parent smile. Those cries of a newborn baby girl. Lauriano can't help but cry, cry for his baby, their baby. Tears of joy escaping his eyes. One nurse came towards him holding his baby "Here, you might want to hold her." And there she was, in his arms, looking at him with her eyes wide open. Amber eyes staring back at his blue ones. It was the colour of her mother's eyes, who was sleeping right now. The doctor said that Nina needs some rest, but everything is okay and there's no need to worry. "Welcome to this world, mio piccolo angelo." He said kissing their baby's forehead. This world isn't the safest place for her. No, she can't live here, they've to find a place, the safest one. "Lauriano, can I see her now?" Asked a very weak and exhausted Nina. Her face looked pale, but it still was glowing with happiness. When Lauriano handed that small bundle of joy to Nina, her smile grew. "You are so beautiful, my baby. Isn't she Lauriano?" Lauriano smiled "Yes, she is. She has your eyes, Nina." Nina kept looking at her and then she started crying. Crying for her fate. They can't keep their daughter here, no she is not safe here. Never safe here. "Can we come in now?" Asked Lauriano's younger brother Illidio who came with his wife Palmora, the two of them were their only family. Lauriano smiled and nodded. Palmora dashed in behind her came a happy Illidio, they both were happy. Even though they can never have a child of their own, they can still love their niece as their own. "Aww, she is so pretty. She looks just like you, Nina." Palmora was totally smitten. "Can I...... like hold her?" "Yes, why not." Nina smiled giving her little baby to Palmora. "You are her mother too, never forget that." Palmora nodded. "So, what's her name?" Illidio looked at the new parents with raised eyebrows and a smile on his face "I think we should give her a name." "Andrea, her name is Andrea." Said Nina, looking fondly at her daughter. Smile, she gave them a chance to smile, not a forced one but a real one. Ring...... Ring...... "s**t, Roberto's calling!" Lauriano said, taking his phone out. That was enough to make them terrified. "Tell me it's a boy, Lauriano." Came a stern voice from the other side of the phone.
