I drove through the streets far too fast. The roads around the pack's property were pretty quiet, which was good as I needed to get home. I needed the peace of my family's land. I flexed my hands desperately trying to ease out the cramps in them. I growled as i tried to shake them out in exasperation. The gates appeared, but I didn't feel the usual relief this sight usually gave me. I screeched to a halt at the call box and keyed in my code. The light flickered to green and the gate slowly swung open. I pulled the car through and pulled off the path into the trees and jumped out of the driver's seat. Landing in a crouch, I sprinted into the trees. The forest quickly surrounded me as i ran almost on all fours, feeling the wolf inside me fighting for control. The scent of Sarah was on my clothes, being so close to her. The feeling of her lips on mine those sensations were just too much. I tore my shirt off and continued to run, the beast inside me snapping and snarling as the distance melted away beneath my feet. Suddenly, my legs buckled, pitching me down to the ground. I snarled, feeling the shift initiating inside me. I knew this wasn't what I should be doing; this was an emotionally triggered shift. I wasn't supposed to do that. We were supposed to suppress our emotions and suppress these types of shifts, but I was experiencing too much. I needed clarity, so I just embraced it. I reveled in the pain that shot through my body as the bones inside me snapped and realigned themselves, that my form twisted, and my body bucked helplessly. The shift hurt, it had always hurt, but I loved it. I loved the feeling of my other side taking precedence, allowing that caged emotions to just be free, allowing myself to let go and be free. The loud snapping of my bones snapped ceased, and my body collapsed into the ground trembling. I struggled to my feet, my legs wobbling, i stretched myself out, reveling in my wolf form . My head swung around as i became overwhelmed by the scent emerging from my scattered clothes. I walked slowly over and buried my nose in the ripped fabric and my wolf purred loudly as the scent of Sarah washed over me. I found myself dropping to the ground rubbing my body against the fabric, immersing myself in the scent. Sparse as it was, my nose was a hundred times more sensitive now, meaning that even a tiny hint of her scent was overpowering. I pushed myself up to my feet. My wolf was completely in control here, frantic and desperate for my mate. It was actually my rational human part of me that took control and did the only thing I could think of. I ran. I continued running for miles and miles and time just got away from me as I lost myself in the physical exertion. ‘DEAN’ I stumbled to a halt as i entered the clearing which was filled by the presence of a pissed-off 5 year-old. ‘Where have you been?’ JJ pouted, I shifted restlessly, ‘I need you for a tea party. I growled in exasperation, ‘don't take that tone with me,’ JJ snapped pointing a finger at me looking so much like her bloody mother. It was crazy this little 5 year old who was standing in front of a huge grey wolf who she was scolding because he didn't want to attend her tea party. JJ folded her arms. Ashton and Carl are waiting, so please hurry up the tea is getting cold.’ i would have laughed but, of course being a wolf it came out as a sort of bark but JJ wasn't amused , ‘I'm waiting.’ she said shortly. I snorted as I padded into the bushes. I could hear JJ hovering nearby. There was no way she was letting me go. I guess I was going to a tea party.
