I twisted trying to catch sight of my butt in the tiny mirror on the bathroom wall. I gripped the hem of the dress, pulling it straighter. ‘What do you think?’ I asked, turning around to look at the puppy. He pee’d on the floor.’ thanks blue that's really a vote of confidence’. I said, crouching down to quickly mop up the small puddle of urine on the floor. I popped up to my feet and began roughly pulling a brush through my long hair, trying to calm the honey blond curls into some semblance of control. I looked at my face. My skin looked pale, but thankfully the make-up had covered up the dark bags under my eyes. Luckily, I hadnt been sick since last night, but it was still obvious i had been sick. I walked over to one of my multiple boxes and began rummaging around, eventually pulling out a pair of heels from the box. I put them on but after a few seconds, I kicked them off and returned to the box, pulling out instead a pair of flat sandals. I was f*****g awful at walking in heels and I seemed to find an incredible number of ways to embarrass myself, i didn't want to add more possibilities, especially around this guy, f**k he made me nervous. I don't know why, but him just being in the room made my entire body tremble. I don't know why I mean I was a lesbian. I was, I mean I think...wasnt i? But if I was, why did my body respond in the way it did to his simple proximity? I was sharply jerked from this introspection by blue, who began attacking my sandal strap. 'Come on mate,' I said, picking him up I put him in the fabric playpen that I had acquired from a charity shop earlier that afternoon. I added a puppy pad and the food and water as the pup pounced onto one of the teddy bears growling as she attacked the toy. I grabbed my handbag and retrieved my bag, purse and keys. I grabbed my jacket and tiptoed towards the door. As I reached the front door I tried to open it silently, ‘And where are you doing at this late hour?’ I jumped instinctively as Norma emerged from the darkened kitchen. ‘Norma, what are ou doing in there?’ ‘It's my kitchen.’ she said, rolling her wheelchair back into the hall, ‘ where are you going?’ ‘Just out.’ I said instantly, feeling like a fifteen-year-old girl who was caught sneaking out. ‘To see him.’ ‘What?’ i said in mock innocence. Norma sighed, ‘I don't know how he's tried to get his claws into you this time.’ ‘Norma, we are just going for a drink.’ ‘Dressed like that’ she said, nodding at my dress. I looked down at the pink dress which came down to my knees. ‘Yeah, Victorian porn, I'm showing off all kinds of ankle,’ I said going for playful. Norma just folded her arms, glaring at me. ‘Look, I'm only going to be an hour. I have to be back for the puppy and I have my phone if you need me.’ I said, opening the door. ‘Be careful.’ Norma said as i went to step out. You don't seem to have a lick of common sense when it comes to that one.’ I just sighed, ‘Get some rest I’ll be back soon.’ as I came out into the cool night air my breath caught in my lungs as, I spotted Dean across the road leaning against a car in what I think was supposed to be a casual way, but he was watching the front of Normas bungalow in a way that was far too intense to be perceived as casual. I suddenly realized I had been stood there staring for far too long. I shook my head slightly trying to regain my senses and walked towards Dean. He smiled gently. f**k. I wish he would stop doing that. I could feel the goosebumps pop up all over my skin and shivers traveled through my body as I tried to walk normally on my wobbly legs. He pushed himself off of the car he was leaning against and walked to myside. ‘Hello.’ I said nervously. He smiled placing a hand on my waist, he lent over and kissed me. It was a light, gentle, surprisingly chaste but lingering kiss. ‘Hi.’ he said, and I flinched as, I hadn't realized he had stopped kissing me. ‘Oh…i…um… hi.’ I said blankly. He laughed and reached out taking my hand, he leaned over, shivers traveled through my body as I felt his warm breath brush across my neck as he whispered in my ear, ‘I think we are being watched .’ i turned to the house and saw Norma watching out of the living room window glaring at us. ‘Um, I think we should go.’ I said quietly. ‘I am not going to argue with you.’ he said, holding my hand more tightly, he pulled me towards the car. He reached out and pulled open the passenger door of his car. I just stood frowning at him for a few seconds completely baffled, he honestly looked confused by my confusion. Eventually, I just sat down in the car. Dean appeared in the driver's seat and quickly started the car. I looked around the interior of the car blankly trying to think of something to say, but yet again my brain seemed to be working at half speed probably as most of my blood flow seemed to be concentrated on my p***y. Dean laughed as if he had heard my thoughts, ‘What?’ i asked ‘Will you relax I’m not gonna bite you,’ he gave me a dirty look, ‘unless you ask me nicely.’ I laughed but wished he would stop looking at me like that, his looks alone managed to make my mind go to some very dirty places. ‘You know I can't stay long.’ I said gently, squirming slightly in my seat, ‘with Norma and the puppy and everything.’ 'God, that's depressing we haven't even left your street yet and your already trying to form your exit plan. ‘No itsjust blue hes only a baby..’ ‘Well, Norma will be thrilled,’ he muttered, ‘She’s not much of a fan of you is she?’ ‘That's an understatement.’ ‘Whys that?’ ‘Dunno.’ he lied. The answer was quick and casual, but it was a lie. ‘Is she the only woman who you can't charm?’ ‘Pretty much.’ he said, his eyes flickering to me with a smile. ‘What?’ I said slowly, suspicion clear in my voice, ‘Just musing on the fact that it didn't take me more than a few days to get a date with you when you declared yourself a lesbian.’ ‘You know if you want to be more successful with women, maybe you should talk less.’ he sighed, ‘Noted, but I wasn't trying to offend you. I just you didn't seem sure about it.’ I smiled, ‘I'm sure of very little in my life.’ ‘So you had a girlfriend ?’ I nodded, ‘Meg. We were only together like 6 months, but it was quite the scandal for my family. I think they were more shocked about me dating anyone than it beng a girl to be honest. I've always been pretty useless at maintaining a relationship.’ ‘Me too.’ he said with a smile, ‘I just sort of got around it by having a 24-hour limit on relationships,’ ‘Oh so that's why you said you were after just one date.’ I smiled but he didn't, ‘So what's your issue with relationships?’ I asked, a little wrong-footed by the fact that he hadn't smiled as previously everything I said had made him smile. ‘They weren't you.’ he said simply. ‘Oh.’ I said, not sure what to say to that, but he seemed to find it unnecessary to elaborate any further and so the silence stretched out. I couldn't stop myself squirming restlessly as the small enclosed space in the car filled with the amazing intoxicating scent of Dean’s warm body, awkward, my habit of babbling broke through. I just hate silence, ‘I just seem to be annoying. people always say I don't seem too enthusiastic. The thought of dating like f*****g guys just always seemed wrong. I just always felt wrong about it so i don't know i tried dating girls I didn't get the ick about that, but I still wasn't much more successful at that. ‘To my surprise Dean was smiling at this but didn't say anything, keeping his eyes locked on the road in front him. ‘So where are we going?’ I asked feeling awkward as I realized we were heading out of the town. ‘Don't worry.’ he said simply as he turned the car off down a smaller side road, ‘I think that this is private property.’ I said, pointing to a large sign. ‘It's alright.’ he said, continuing down the road that was becoming smaller and more overgrown. I honestly started to have horrific images of serial killers. Why had I agreed to this when I watched so many true crime cases. The car rumbled to a halt and Dean opened the window, tapping a number into a keypad which caused the gate in front of us to shudder open and Dean put the car back into gear chuckling, ‘Will you please relax. I know you love true-crime stories but this isn't one I couldn't physically hurt you even if I wanted to.’ I didn't find that reassuring as he pulled the car over into the trees and shot off the engine.
