Meeting Mr Stanley again

MARIE “I am sure you can always get another job, you’re the most talented person I know so this shouldn’t be hard at all.” Bella said to me over the phone and I knew she was just trying to keep my hopes up but I still believed her. Like it wasn’t bad enough that I had to find my boyfriend sleeping with someone else the night before I started my dream job, I ended up losing my job after six weeks of working my ass off without a single apology. How do you fire someone the first day they resume the job? What did I ever do to him? He didn’t say anything other than I was fired, he didn’t even let me speak before he called for his security to escort me out. The whole thing still felt like a nightmare. “Marie!” Mom called out my name and before I could respond, she opened the door and walked in, “let’s have dinner together.” “Mom! What happened to knocking before entering.” I whined and she smiled. “Cheer up darling, they don’t deserve someone like you and that sick CEO is definitely going to rot in hell.” She started angrily and all I could do was force a smile. I didn’t exactly tell them the whole truth about what had happened, in fact I twisted the whole thing in a way that the story became entirely different from what had happened. Mom simply refused to take no for an answer so within a few minutes, I was helping her set up the table and she was yelling at my elder brother, Jake to come downstairs and eat with us. “No can do Mom, a friend of mine just got back and I am having dinner with him.” Jake said as he rushed back up the stairs to grab something. “A friend? I didn’t know you had any friends other than the ones at college.” “Yeah… this one is different.” Jake yelled from upstairs. “More for us then.” Dad winked at me and I had to pretend to be excited about dinner even when I wasn’t. The doorbell rang and I could hear Jake rushing down the stairs to answer it but mom beat him to it and she wasted no time at all to convince whoever it was to come in. “Mom, Dad, remember my friend that I have always spoken about since high school,” “The one you said you went to college together but he left?” “Yes, this is him, his name is Sebastian. Sebastian, this is my Dad, my mom and my little sister, Marie.” Jake said behind me and I turned around just in time for a familiar scent to hit me. My heart made a loud thumping sound and my breath got caught in my throat when my eyes rested on him standing beside dad at the edge of the table with a smile on his face. What the… How was he… “It’s so nice to meet you all and I am so sorry for intruding.” He said as mom ushered him to take his seat right in front of me. Of all the people that could have been my brother’s friend, it just had to be him? How was that even possible? It was either he didn’t recognize me or was pretending not to and I was certain that he was simply pretending not to. “Nonsense! Have a seat and let’s all enjoy the good food, I am sure it’s been a while since you had a proper home cooked meal.” Dad said to him with a wide smile on his face. Mom served everyone and even though I desperately wanted to leave, I had no choice than to sit down and eat dinner with the man that had ruined my life, sitting right in front of me with a smile plastered across his face. “So… what do you do?” Dad asked and Jake tried to make him go easy on his friend but Sebastian insisted it was fine. “I just returned to the country to run my Grandfather’s company, he is not really up to it anymore.” He explained and Dad nodded, his admiration for Jake’s friend already becoming obvious. “Oh, I see you’re in that line of work, my daughter, Marie is too but she recently just lost her job because of a pervert that calls himself a CEO.” Dad said and I almost spat out the water in my mouth the moment I heard him mention that. “Sorry, sorry,” I muttered as I wiped it off with a napkin, “Dad you don’t have to talk about that in front of a guest.” I added but Dad was no longer listening to me. “Pervert?” Sebastian raised a brow at me and the moment his grey eyes landed on me for the first time since he sat down, I wanted nothing more than for the ground to open up and swallow me. Or I would most likely die from the embarrassment. “I wonder what kind of people we have in the world today, can you imagine something like that? Marie resumes her first day of work and the pervert she is supposed to be working for tries to touch her and when she refuses his advances, he fires her.” “What?!” Sebastian exclaimed and I tried to disappear underneath the table but it was of no use. Oh my God! “You can imagine how shocked my wife and I were when we heard this from our daughter. I am just happy that Marie is well mannered enough to turn down his advances. I raised my daughter right.” Dad added with pride and Mom smiled at me. Oh my God! I was panicking so hard and barely able to keep myself under control. “Is that so…” his words trailed off as his eyes briefly rested on me again with some sort of amusement in them, “who is this CEO?” Sebastian asked and I could have sworn that I saw him smirk. Did he think this was funny? This was all his fault! I wouldn’t be in this predicament if it wasn’t for him. “The CEO of Richardson corps.” Dad responded and my entire face felt like it had been lit up in flames. I was dying from the embarrassment of it all. “Left to me, I think she should get back at that bastard for what he did. You trained for six weeks for this and he has no right at all to do that to you.” Jake said. “We shouldn’t just let this go, or what do you think Sebastian?” Dad suggested and Sebastian nodded, staring right at me with some sort of look in his eyes. “Uhm… I… uhm… I don’t think you would know him. The company isn’t such a big deal anyways so let’s just let it go.” I managed to respond, my body trembling due to his fixed gaze on me. “I thought you said it was a top company.” Mom pointed out and I simply laughed it off in the most awkward manner. “The world really is a crazy place,” Sebastian began, “there was someone that was supposed to work for me and I found out she sleeps around with strange men even without knowing who they were. I couldn’t stand it, so I had to let her go.” My heart dipped towards my stomach as soon as I heard him say that and I could feel the blood rushing to my face as fear gripped me. If my parents ever found out about what happened, the thought of it alone caused goosebumps to pop out all over my body at an alarming rate. “How rotten is the world now? Such an ill mannered girl! I wonder what kind of home she comes from, anyways, I am glad my Marie isn’t one of them. She is always on her best behavior.” Dad replied with an even wider smile and I forced a smile back. I couldn’t take it anymore, I just couldn’t. I stood up sharply, my chair scraped against the floor noisily. “I’m full now.” I said through gritted teeth, grabbed my plate and walked to the kitchen, As soon as I was in there, I dumped the plates in the dishwasher and crumbled to the ground, breathing heavily as I struggled to process everything that had just happened. I was so lost in thought that I didn’t hear him walk in, “Apparently, I’m a pervert.” He said behind me and I was startled to hear his voice, he was holding a glass and walked over to drop it in the sink. “What are you doing here? Are you stalking me? Why are you so hell bent on making my life miserable?” “I had no idea he was your brother so relax, besides this is all your fault, you shouldn’t go around sleeping with strangers when your parents see you as an angel.” “My fault?!” I yelled but was forced to bring my voice down, “you came onto me first and besides, I had no idea who you were. How was I supposed to know? If there is anyone at fault here and should take the blame, it’s you.” “Me?” “Yes, if you had not acted so unprofessional and fired me like that, we wouldn’t even be in this mess.” “I cannot work with someone I had s*x with like that.” “Why? Was it your first time? Are you a child or what? What are you so scared of?” “Scared?” He scoffed out loud, “what is there to be scared of?” “You tell me.” I clapped back and he grinned devilishly as he inched closer to me. No matter how many times I stepped back, he kept coming closer until he had me pinned against the counter and his body was pressed against mine. “Maybe it’s because I am matured enough to admit the fact that I still want to f**k you again and can’t tolerate that type of unprofessionalism in my office.” He held my gaze as he said every single word. I swallowed hard as some sort of feeling exploded between my thighs. Did he just say he would f**k me again?
