The Promise; Book 1(18+)

Mia's Pov Today was also a bummer. i tried so hard to find a job it was all in vain. i have to find something really quick because i know it's only a matter of time before i get kicked out. Last summer after dad died, i was left all alone. He was the only one in my life agter mom, after mom left us dad was both mom and dad for me. From waking me up for school, packing lunch , picking me up after classes, weekend movies.Well i lost both my only family and best friend. My dad used to tell me to be brave and strong for the harsh waves but i though he'll always be with me. Well life surely has a way of surprising me. Okay back to present, now I'm walking to my uncle's house at 8pm. that's the reason I'm so much desperate to find a job. My uncle, well he's not a nice person and my aunt she's a nasty woman. As soon as walked through the door, "Where were you all day?" said Aunt. "If you have so much time to roam around,then stay at home and do the chores" "Probably whoring herself" my cousin Chris said. He's 25 this year and always tries to talk and touch me in a very inappropriate way. So i always ignore him.The only reason I'm staying in this house is because my dad told to find a job then leave this house and my uncle's family trying to marry me off to Chris to get the property.i as usual don't reply anything to them and go straight to my room/store room because my previous room is now Chris's. When i came home from funeral he already took everything his to my room and told if i want this room i can always sleep with him with a very nasty smile which he might have thought impressive. I as much as possible try not to interact with them so i don't eat dinner. Next morning i wake up by the phone ringing. "Hello,Noah." "Hey Mia , i just called you let you know there's a part-time job at the cafe. if you want i can talk to mom" "hey that's really helpful and thank you very much, I'll come in one hour,Thank you very much Noah. I really needed this." Noah said " hey it's okay. just come whenever you're cool" the call ended. Noah and his mom moved in this town when we're 13,.we've been friends ever since. i get up and get ready for the cafe. I was coming down the stairs and saw uncle sitting in the table reading newspaper and aunt was watching tv. They looked at me and said "Where are you going?" i said "I'm going to meet Noah we have someplace to go together" Aunt said " You have time to talk with boys so talk with Chris, he likes you. so stop going out and marry him amd stay home" i was baffled , atleast before they tried to hide it.Now they're just throwing it in my face . " No aunt, I'll not marry Chris and I'm going out to find a job not to waste time." Aunt said " tomorrow is you last day if you don't agree then you'll have to bear the consequences. " she was also telling something but i didn't have the time for that. i went out through the door. Such a lovely morning.
