Dawn nodded slightly. “How crazy that we get to graduate together though.” Lucas said. Dawn nodded slowly. “She’s slower every time.” Patrick said softly. “What?” Mark asked. “She’s slower again. Last time she did this she became slower. She is slower than before.” Patrick said. “What are you saying?” Mark asked. “I’m saying I think we need to go back to the hospital. She is slower than before and the only thing different is she gargled and spat again.” Patrick said. “They wouldn’t have discharged her if she wasn’t safe.” Mark said. Jessie walked in. “Jessie, you need to tell them, she became slower after the blood gargling.” Patrick said. “She did.” Jessie said. “She needs to go back to the hospital because she’s even slower than before.” Patrick said. Jessie moved to Dawn quickly. She slowly turned her eyes and her head to follow him. They noticed her lack of movement was different. Jessie was up next to her face. “Dawn, I want you to nod or shake your head.” Jessie said. Dawn nodded. “When you see someone moving, do you lose sight of them?” Jessie asked. Dawn nodded. “Is it worse?” Jessie asked. Dawn didn’t move her head. She opened her mouth. “Whee whoo.” She mumbled. “Call an ambulance. She wouldn’t risk talking and causing more damage unless it was serious.” Jessie said. “See dad!” Patrick snapped. Scott was on the phone calling an ambulance. “Tell the hospital we request Wendy the paramedic. Dawn needs her asap.” Jessie said. Jessie grabbed Dawn. As he was walking out, everyone stepped aside. Dawn’s hand was twitching and Jessie noticed. He hurried her down the stairs. Jessie sat her in his lap as he waited on the couch for the ambulance. “Patrick, drive my car there after I leave with her.” Jessie said. Jessie chucked his keys over. “You also left you phone upstairs.” Patrick said. Patrick handed Jessie his phone. A few minutes later they hear the ambulance sirens in the distance. “It does kind of sound like whee whoo.” Derek said. They laughed. Dawn was turning more pale as she squeezed Jessie’s shirt. “They’re almost here.” Jessie said. They heard a beeping sound. It was reversing in the drive way. Jessie got up and started carrying her. Wendy came in to check Dawn as her colleague grabbed a bed. “Dawn, are you okay?” Wendy asked. “She became more slow after more blood then she said whee whoo and now she’s turning pale and her hand is twitching.” Jessie said. “Dawn, look at me.” Wendy said. Dawn really slowly looked at Wendy. She was now sitting on the portable hospital bed, she hadn’t leaned back yet. “Are you coming with us Jessie?” Wendy asked. Jessie nodded. “Get in the front passenger side.” Wendy said. “Dawn, I am quickly going to check your vitals before we leave.” Wendy said. Dawn nodded slowly. The other paramedic came running with a bp machine and a mini portable EKG machine. Wendy set them up. “Your blood pressure is 151 over 106. We need you to calm down.” Wendy said. “Is that high?” Derek asked. “She’s in the hypertension level. She will need medication if it doesn’t drop.” Wendy said. Wendy attached the portable EKG machine. “Brick, radio them to get a crash cart ready!” Wendy shouted. The machine was beeping rapidly as Wendy wheeled her to the ambulance. They ran to the door. They heart the machine start flatlining as Dawn fell backwards in the ambulance bed when they loaded her in. Wendy shut the doors as Brick drove with the sirens on at full speed. They watched anxiously as they could see Wendy doing CPR in the back as it sped away. They looked around at each other. “She’s died twice today now.” Patrick said. “It was so sudden.” Mark said. “That’s like before. Except before she was talking and then dropped dead.” Patrick said. “We’re coming with you. She’s our family too.” Scott said. “You won’t fit in Jessie’s car.” Patrick said. “We take our own cars.” Scott said. Patrick nodded. Tate got into his car, Mark got into his car after calling Laura out of her room. They all left to go to the hospital. Mark explained Dawn just died again and that Laura has to make amends in case she won’t survive. They all arrived and cried as they waited anxiously. Only Jessie was allowed because Wendy knew Dawn wouldn’t be without him. They revived her with the paddles again. Wendy was freaking out. She didn’t know what the cause was. They ordered a cat scan and MRI, blood tests and they ordered more X-rays. Dawn was put into every test they could think of. They had neurologists and surgeons at the ready. Hours go by and Dawn was wheeled into a room. She held Jessie’s hand and refused to let go. Wendy walked in with a worrying look. “Dawn, we can’t find anything causing you to keep dying.” Wendy said. Dawn nodded. “The doctor has sent for some ice chips for your throat. He said it felt warm and is hoping ice helps.” Wendy said. Jessie and Dawn nodded. Jessie sat down next to Dawn holding her tight. Five days later she stopped bleeding and hadn’t died again, so they let Dawn go home. Jessie didn’t want her overwhelmed so he texted once saying they didn’t know what’s going on and he’d message when he knew. Jessie messaged that the bleeding stopped and she hasn’t crashed since arriving so they are letting her leave. Jessie carried Dawn out to his car and took her home.
