Once Jessie graduated from high school, he had received acceptance letters for quite a few colleges. Jessie didn’t know which one he wanted. But Jessie went to prom with Dawn and all the guys voted her to be prom queen. That bothered the senior girls considering Dawn was a year too young for prom. Jessie won prom king and danced with Dawn in front of everyone.
She was happy to just be able to dance with him. She sang along to every song in a light quiet tone so no one else heard. Jessie wouldn’t remove his arms from Dawn’s arms the whole night. Dawn was loving this.
Once the new year rolled around, Jessie left for college visits. Dawn was having fun with the guys playing games at the park. She really did have so much energy to burn. Her body was fully healed from the carnival and she promised to never go on a roller coaster again. Dawn had received letters from the school stating multiple scouts are interested in watching her this year. She was curious why, but she ignored it.
Dawn didn’t want the distraction. Dawn ended up being the centre of attention being the youngest senior considering she was 2 years younger than everyone else in the grade. The teachers were all thrilled. And she still wore her cheerleader uniform daily. Lucas and Scott shared classes with her, they walked her to each class and never left her side at school. They always sat at the desks where she was seated between them. Dawn felt safe near them.
Nearing Scott’s birthday, he was throwing a birthday party. His parents were out of town and he promises there will be alcohol. But he promised Dawn there would be soda for her in the fridge. Dawn smiled and agreed to go. She wore a beautiful black singlet with a black skirt that made it look like a dress.
The music was quite loud and Scott advised Dawn that he would lower it if she found it too loud. She pushed him playfully and shook her head. She had texted Jessie that she was at Scott’s birthday and sent a selfie. Scott had his arm around her and his other arm held a beer in it. Dawn was clearly laughing and happy in the photo.
Jessie sent a smile and a love heart as a reply. But Dawn knew he hated sending emoji’s. She thought he might be acting up because he was jealous so she ignored her phone for the rest of the night. Lucas brought Dawn a drink for her to open herself so she knew it was safe. Dawn sang along to the song called take a hint from the nickelodeon show called victorious.
Dawn accidentally got a lot of drunk guys attention as she twirled around and sang in the corner. Scott shook his head at them and got closer to Dawn.
Lucas was also on his guard, he knows what drunk guys are like. Dawn was in her own little world and dancing while singing. She started giggling. Lucas noticed she had a different drink than the one he gave her.
“Scott, someone gave her a different drink.” Lucas said.
Scott looked and saw she wasn’t drinking her Pepsi max drink. She had a creaming soda can.
“Dawn, who gave you that?” Scott asked.
Dawn shrugged and laughed.
“Lucas, keep an eye on her.” Scott said.
Scott walked outside for a moment.
“Hello?” Patrick asked.
“I think Dawn’s drink was spiked. Can you come get her? She’s drinking a creaming soda and we know she only drinks Pepsi max. Her behaviour has changed like she’s drunk but she hasn’t touched any alcohol.” Scott said.
“On my way.” Patrick said.
Dawn giggled as she walked outside to Scott, he turned around to Dawn jumping in his arms.
“I love you guys.” Dawn said.
“We love you too Dawn.” Scott said.
“Dance with me.” Dawn said.
“I think you need to sit down.” Scott said.
Lucas came outside and was followed by other guys and girls outside.
“You have a pool?” Dawn asked.
“No Dawn, no swimming. Someone gave you a drug in your drink. You aren’t swimming, to keep you safe.” Scott said.
Dawn pushed his arms away from her.
“I want to wet my feet.” Dawn whined.
Lucas tried to not laugh.
“Dawn, you’re not behaving like yourself.” Scott said.
“Pretty, pretty please.” Dawn begged.
Dawn looked up at him with puppy dog eyes and slowly blinked. Scott was feeling conflicted.
“Lucas, would you go in with her?” Scott asked.
“I’ve had too much to drink.” Lucas said.
“Sorry Dawn, we can’t go in so you can’t.” Scott said.
Dawn ran inside. She ran up his stairs. Scott sighed.
“And this is why having a girlfriend would be a lot of hassle.” Lucas said.
“Somehow I feel like it’s more hassle for us, having a girlfriend and trying to get her understand why we care about Dawn.” Scott mumbled.
Lucas laughed as Scott was walking towards the door.
“Oh s**t! There’s the main entertainment!” Kyle shouted.
Scott looked at him looking at the upper level. Dawn was taking her singlet and skirt off on the edge of his window. She stood on the upper level of his second story house.
“DAWN! GET DOWN!” Scott screamed.
Dawn was spinning and laughing on the roof.
“Want me to try to lure her in?” Lucas asked.
“No, she will jump.” Scott said.
The guys were cheering at Dawn as she danced in her white bra and underwear. It was a matching lace set. Dawn was giggling and laughing with each wiggle she did. Eventually Patrick arrived and saw Scott trying to coax her to get back in the window.
“DAWN!” Patrick shouted.
Patrick had Derek and Justin with him. They looked in shock.
“If someone goes to the window she will jump. It’s the only reason we haven’t.” Lucas said.
“Derek, climb out a different window and try to sneak up on her.” Patrick said.
Derek listened.
Dawn kept dancing and giggling. She nearly fell over. She looked over at Scott.
“We should go skinny dipping!” Dawn shouted.
“YEAH!” Carl shouted.
“NO! I will tell Jessie!” Patrick threatened.
Dawn gave him a thumbs down and frowned.
“Boo Patricia!” Dawn said.
