Blurb

Yahlee was supposed to have a normal life. Go to school, chase her dreams, survive adulthood, complain about money, overthink at midnight, and pretend she had everything under control. Simple enough, right? Unfortunately, life apparently had other plans—and whoever was in charge clearly had a questionable sense of humor. Somewhere between bad decisions, unexpected encounters, awkward situations, and things that absolutely should not be happening, Yahlee begins to realize that her life might not be as ordinary as she thought. The problem? She doesn't even know what's going on. And honestly, neither do we.

There are strange things happening around her, people who seem to know more than they should, moments that feel oddly familiar, and situations that make Yahlee question whether she's experiencing something supernatural or simply needs to sleep for twelve hours straight. She tries to ignore it, because apparently dealing with mysterious forces is less urgent than dealing with real-life problems. But the more she ignores the strange things happening around her, the harder they become to explain. And somehow, every answer seems to come with another question.

Along the way, Yahlee will meet people who will make her laugh, cry, scream, question her life choices, and possibly question theirs too. Some will become important. Some will become problems. Some will be both—which, honestly, is much worse. There will be love, friendship, drama, secrets, misunderstandings, suspicious people, questionable decisions, and enough emotional damage to make everyone involved need a vacation.

But beneath all the chaos is a story about a girl who is simply trying to figure out where she belongs, who she can trust, and why the universe seems to have personally chosen her for a series of events she never signed up for.

So if you're looking for a story that will make you laugh one moment, scream at your phone the next, and then leave you staring at the ceiling wondering “, WHAT IS HAPPENING ?”—welcome.

You may come for the drama.

You may stay for the romance.

You may laugh at Yahlee's questionable decisions.

But sooner or later, you'll start wondering about the same thing she does:

Where exactly is the wind carrying her?

And more importantly...

why does it feel like the wind already knows where she's going?

She was not looking for love. She was looking for somewhere her heart could finally rest.
If you are looking for a story full of drama, mystery, strange encounters, unexpected twists, questionable decisions, and a little magic that may or may not be real, then congratulations—you've probably just found Yahlee's problem. Welcome. Please stay. She could use the emotional support because, honestly, she has no idea what she's doing either. Yahlee is just an ordinary girl trying to survive an ordinary life. She has dreams, responsibilities, problems, and the incredible ability to overthink something that happened three years ago at 2:17 in the afternoon. She laughs, she cries, she makes mistakes, and occasionally makes decisions so questionable that even the narrator needs a moment to process them. She is not a chosen one. She does not have superpowers. She does not wake up one morning looking mysteriously beautiful with the wind dramatically blowing through her hair. Most of the time, she's probably just wondering where her money went. But something about Yahlee's life is... weird. At first, it's nothing serious. A strange feeling here. A familiar face she doesn't remember meeting. A dream that feels too real. A place she's certain she's never been to, yet somehow knows exactly how to get around. Little things. Completely harmless things. Probably. Maybe. Hopefully. Because Yahlee has a habit of ignoring things she doesn't understand. Which would be perfectly fine if those things weren't slowly becoming impossible to ignore. And then there are the strange encounters. People who seem to know her when she doesn't know them. Conversations she swears have happened before. Names that appear where they shouldn't. And occasionally, a voice calling her name when nobody is around. Could it be coincidence? Could it be fate? Could it be magic? Or could Yahlee simply need more sleep? Honestly, we're not ruling anything out. The funny thing is, Yahlee doesn't realize how strange her life is becoming. She's too busy worrying about school, money, relationships, family, and whatever new problem decides to spawn that week. The universe could literally throw a supernatural warning sign in front of her and she'd probably stare at it for five seconds before saying, “Later on.” And that might be her biggest mistake. Because while Yahlee is busy trying to figure out her life, something else may already be trying to figure out her. So yes, there will be romance. There will be drama. There will be heartbreak. There will be secrets. There will be moments when you'll laugh until your stomach hurts and moments when you'll want to throw your phone across the room because Yahlee made yet another decision that should've come with a warning label. You will probably love some characters. You will probably hate some characters. You will probably trust someone. Don't. You might think you've figured out the mystery. You haven't. You might think you know who the good people are. Good luck with that. And if you ever find yourself thinking, “Ah, okay, I finally understand what's happening,” congratulations. That's exactly when you should start worrying. Because this story isn't about finding the answer. It's about surviving long enough to discover why the question existed in the first place. So laugh with Yahlee. Cry with her. Judge her questionable life choices. Pretend you wouldn't make the same mistakes. Fall in love with the characters. Suspect everyone. Trust nobody. And when the wind starts whispering her name... don't panic. Yahlee probably won't notice it anyway. She'll most likely be busy. But if she suddenly turns around and asks, “Have you heard it?” Run. Because that's when the story actually begins. The rain had always reminded her of endings. Maybe because every time the sky cried, something inside her seemed to loosen too — somewhere in the distance, thunder growled like an old wound refusing to heal. Before Yahlee became a woman standing alone by the sea, she was a girl who believed that if she tried hard enough, life would eventually reward her. She was wrong. But she didn't know that yet. At nineteen, Yahlee had a notebook full of dreams. It was old, its edges already folded and worn from being carried everywhere. On the first page, she had written: **Things I Will Do Before I Turn Thirty.** 1. Graduate. 2. Get a stable job. 3. Help my family. 4. Build my own business. 5. Travel somewhere I've never been. 6. Have a beautiful home. 7. Be happy. Number seven was underlined three times. Back then, she thought happiness was something you could schedule. Something you could work for. Something that would eventually arrive after all the difficult parts were over. She didn't know that sometimes the difficult parts didn't end. Sometimes they simply changed their clothes. --- “Yahlee!” She looked up from her notebook. Her friend Sera Magbanua was standing in front of her, holding two cups of instant coffee. “You've been staring at that page for ten minutes.” “I was thinking.” Yahlee said. “About?” Sera asked. “My future.” Yahlee answered. Sera placed the coffee on the table. “Your future has been stressing you out since we were seventeen.” Sera said. Yahlee laughed. “Because my future is expensive.” Yahlee answered Sera laughed. “Fair.” Yahlee looked at her notebook again. “Do you ever feel like everyone knows what they're doing except us?” Sera sat beside her. “Honestly?” “Hmm?” “I think everyone is pretending.” Yahlee smiled. “Really?” “Yep. Some people are just better at pretending.” They laughed. But after Sera left, Yahlee's smile disappeared. She stared at the words on her notebook. **Be happy.** For some reason, those two words felt impossible. --- School was supposed to be her escape. Instead, it became another battlefield. Assignments. Deadlines. Projects. Requirements. Expenses. Transportation. Food. Everything seemed to have a price. Even dreams. She studied whenever she could. Worked whenever she could. Helped whenever someone needed her. She became the kind of person people could rely on. If someone needed something— Yahlee was there. If an organization needed help— Yahlee volunteered. If a friend needed someone to listen— Yahlee stayed. But nobody ever asked the girl who was always available: “Who is there for you?” Maybe that was why she became so good at hiding. She learned how to smile when she was tired. How to laugh when she was worried. How to say “It’s gonna be okay” when everything inside her was screaming that it wasn't. --- One afternoon, she sat alone inside an empty classroom. Everyone had already gone home. The sunlight poured through the windows, drawing long shadows across the floor. Her notebook was open. Her pen was in her hand. But she couldn't write. She stared at the blank page. Then whispered, “I don't know what I'm doing.” The classroom didn't answer. She laughed softly. “Of course.” She leaned back against her chair. “I don't even know why I'm trying so hard.” Her eyes burned. She blinked rapidly. “No.” She shook her head. “Don't cry.” She had an assignment due tomorrow. She had things to finish. She didn't have time to fall apart. So she wiped her eyes. Opened her notebook. And tried again. That was Yahlee's greatest talent. Not being strong. Trying again. Even when she didn't want to. Even when she was exhausted. Even when she had no idea whether trying would change anything. --- Then life asked her to stop. Not gently. Not temporarily. It simply placed a wall in front of everything she had planned. Her studies had to be paused. And suddenly, the girl who had spent years running toward her future had nowhere to run. She watched people she knew graduate. Get jobs. Move forward. Start new chapters. While she remained in the same place. People told her: “Everything will be fine.” “Life is not a race.” But they didn't understand. It wasn't the pause that hurt. It was the feeling that everyone else was moving while she was becoming a stranger to her own dreams. One night, she opened her old notebook. The page with her dreams was still there. She stared at it. Then took a pen. One by one, she crossed them out. Graduate. Crossed out. Stable job. Crossed out. Business. Crossed out. Her hand stopped at the last one. Be happy. She couldn't cross that out. Instead, she closed the notebook. And cried. Not because she had given up. But because, for the first time, she didn't know what she was supposed to hope for anymore. --- Months passed. Yahlee worked. She tried different opportunities. She looked for ways to earn. She learned how expensive adulthood was. She learned that sometimes having a dream wasn't enough. You needed money. Connections. Timing. Luck. And sometimes, even after doing everything right, the answer was still: No. But she kept trying. Because somewhere inside her was a stubborn little voice that refused to die. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow would be different. Maybe tomorrow she'd find something. Maybe tomorrow she'd feel better. Maybe tomorrow she'd finally understand what she was meant to do. Tomorrow became her favorite place to hide. --- One evening, she found herself walking alone near the shore. The wind was strong. She stood there with her arms wrapped around herself. The ocean stretched endlessly in front of her. She watched the waves crash against the sand. “Must be nice,” she whispered. The wind blew against her face. “To keep moving.” She looked at the sea. “You don't have to know where you're going.” Another wave came. “You just go.” She laughed bitterly. “I wish I could do that.” For a while, she stood there. Then she whispered the question she had been too afraid to say aloud. “What happens if I never become the person I wanted to be?” The ocean didn't answer. But the wind did. It moved past her. Not backward. Forward. And Yahlee realized something. Maybe the wind wasn't asking her to know where she was going. Maybe it was only asking her to move. So she did. One step. Then another. Not toward success. Not toward happiness. Not toward some perfect future. Just forward. And she didn't know it yet...
