Chapter 15 – Love Worth Fighting For

The sound of the car door echoed through the quiet countryside.

Ethan turned slowly.

Victoria stepped out, dressed in a black coat, her expression calm but determined.

Amelia stood frozen in the doorway of the cottage.

"Victoria," Ethan said firmly. "What are you doing here?"

She smiled faintly.

"I came to stop you from making the biggest mistake of your life."

Ethan shook his head.

"The biggest mistake I ever made was believing I could trust you."

Victoria's smile disappeared.

She looked at Amelia.

"You really think he'll choose you?"

Amelia remained silent.

"You don't understand the world he belongs to," Victoria continued. "His reputation, his business, his future... you'll always be a burden."

Before Amelia could respond, Ethan stepped in front of her.

"That's enough."

His voice was calm but unwavering.

"The only burden in my life has been your obsession with controlling it."

Victoria stared at him in disbelief.

"You'd throw everything away for her?"

Ethan looked back at Amelia.

"I wouldn't be throwing my life away."

He reached for Amelia's hand.

"I'd be choosing the person who makes my life worth living."

Amelia's eyes filled with tears.

Victoria realized she had lost.

For the first time, she saw that Ethan's decision wasn't based on pity or impulse.

He truly loved Amelia.

Without another word, Victoria turned around, got back into her car, and drove away into the night.

She knew there was nothing left to fight for.

Silence returned.

The rain had stopped, and the moonlight shone across the quiet road.

Amelia looked at Ethan.

"You really came all this way... just for me?"

He smiled gently.

"I'd do it again tomorrow."

She laughed through her tears.

"I was so afraid I'd ruined your life."

"You didn't ruin it," he replied softly.

"You changed it."

Amelia wrapped her arms around him, and he held her close.

For the first time in weeks, they both felt at peace.

"I love you," Amelia whispered.

"I love you too," Ethan replied.

This time, nothing interrupted them.

They shared a long, heartfelt kiss beneath the moonlit sky, promising that no lie, no scandal, and no enemy would ever come between them again.

As they stood together, Ethan smiled.

"Come home with me."

Amelia nodded.

"Home."

Hand in hand, they walked toward Ethan's car, ready to face the future together.
