Chapter 10 – A Secret Relationship

The morning after their kiss, Amelia stood outside Ethan's office, her heart pounding.

Everything had changed.

She took a deep breath and knocked.

"Come in."

Ethan looked up from his desk. The moment their eyes met, a small smile appeared on his face.

"Good morning, Amelia."

"Good morning... Ethan."

The name slipped out before she could stop herself.

He chuckled softly.

"I like the way my name sounds when you say it."

Amelia blushed.

Although they had confessed their feelings, they both knew they had to be careful.

"We can't let our personal lives affect the company," Ethan said.

"I agree."

"And until the right time, no one else can know about us."

Amelia nodded.

"It will stay between us."

They sealed the promise with a smile.

Over the next few weeks, they kept their relationship professional at work.

In meetings, Ethan addressed her as "Miss Carter."

Amelia called him "Mr. Blackwood."

But outside the office, things were different.

They shared quiet dinners, long walks along the River Thames, and conversations that lasted for hours.

For the first time in years, Ethan felt truly happy.

And Amelia had never felt so loved.

One Friday evening, Ethan surprised Amelia.

"I have something for you."

He handed her a small gift box.

Inside was a delicate silver bracelet with a tiny heart charm.

"It's beautiful," she whispered.

"You don't have to wear it at work," Ethan said. "I just wanted you to have something that reminds you how much you mean to me."

Amelia smiled, her eyes shining.

"I'll treasure it."

She hugged him tightly.

But not everyone wanted to see them happy.

Across the street, Victoria sat inside a parked car, watching them through the window of the restaurant.

She wasn't alone.

Beside her sat Mark Reynolds, a senior manager at Blackwood Technologies who had always wanted Ethan's position.

Mark smirked.

"So, the rumors were true."

Victoria crossed her arms.

"They're in love."

Mark smiled coldly.

"Then we'll give the board exactly what they need to remove Ethan as CEO."

Victoria looked at him.

"And Amelia?"

Mark's expression darkened.

"She'll lose everything."

As they drove away into the London night, neither Ethan nor Amelia realized that their secret relationship was no longer a secret.

And the people plotting against them were ready to strike.
