The Werewolf Hunter

Chapter 3

Tiger had gotten a lot of information about Jane. He couldn’t wait to arrive at the werewolf's cave, ready to give Gaius juicy information about their prey. He had transformed back to his human self. On getting to the werewolf's cave, He saw Gaius worried again. Gaius was returning to his throne as he stood, still disturbed. Gaius’s long black cape covered his wolf legs. And sometimes he used a dark red eye patch to cover his werewolf's right eye, giving him a pirate look.

“ Master! I have a lot to tell you.” Tiger knelt about his Master, the Alpha werewolf, laughing like a monster after speaking.

Gaius smiled from behind the throne where he initially stood facing the wall. And so he gradually turned. Making a 360, to face the front where Tiger, his trusted sidekick, and bodyguard, knelt. Ready to listen to him.

“ Rise! Faithful one .” Gaius spoke with so much joy.

He sat comfortably on his throne, waiting for Tiger to rise from his knees and pour out the information he had about Jane.

“ Thank you, master!” Tiger replied after he got up from his knees. Now standing on his two feet.

“ So tell me, were you able to locate the pest?? ( Referring to Jane) .“ Gaius asked in an authoritative tone, already getting irritated by the suspense.

“ Oh yes!! Master! I know where they sleep at night .” Tiger replied, smirking.

Tiger realized Gaius was confused through his dumbfounded facial expression. He only asked for a certain maiden to be found, so he could destroy her. And now Tiger was telling him about ‘They??’.

Gaius’s temper was becoming hot, as he spoke back to Tiger with authority.

“ I only asked you to search for one little girl. Hope you haven’t failed me this time. “ Gaius spoke angrily, getting up from his throne, ready to punish Tiger.

“ No Master!, I did exactly as you instructed me. I’m talking about her whole family.” Tiger reassured his Master that he delivered exactly as he told him to.

“Okay then tell me more,” Gaius spoke, calmly sitting back on his throne.

He knew no werewolf would dare to fail in carrying out their task. The punishment alone was too grave and scary for any of the werewolves to partake in. So they all made sure they carried out their mission, bringing good results back to him. Else they wanted to be tied with chains and left in the scorching afternoon sun to burn mercilessly, with the scars and bruises as evidence.

Most times, many of the werewolves punished never came out of the punishment alive because of the pain. Sometimes, the punishment of a werewolf in the cave where they inhabited was based on the type of offense committed by the werewolf.

If the offense was grave or too serious, Gaius – The Alpha werewolf, would instruct the punishers to also place the werewolf being punished under the scorching sun, in a deep pyramid hole, covering that werewolf with sand and stones, to bury them alive, so they will exist no more.

Gaius never showed mercy to any of his followers. He was a no-nonsense werewolf that could kill and even eat his fellow werewolves if they failed him. So Tiger knew not to mess around with his master. Tiger knew he needed to perform his job as a bodyguard and sidekick very well or he could end up in the pyramid hole. Dead and gone.

“Master! The maiden's name is Jane." Tiger cleared his throat further, getting ready to reveal more information about Jane to his master.

“ She’s from the house of the trench clan. Her father is a popular farmer in that area. And her mother is a tailor.” Tiger spoke again and paused for a minute to know if his master would say anything.

“ Jane huh!” Gaius' facial expression became even more devilish, as he got up from his throne, placing his left hand on his cheeks and stroking his beard with his other right hand as if he was trying to remember something. Gaius couldn’t wait to destroy Jane. The more he heard her name from Tiger’s mouth, the more angry and irritated he got.

Tiger realized Gaius wasn’t saying anything and so he decided to continue spilling out more information, seeing that Gaius had finished reacting to the previous information about Jane.

“ Master! Permit me to speak further?” Tiger asked Gaius again to be sure his master was done speaking.

Gaius, who was still standing, nodded in the affirmative. He wanted Tiger to quickly finish his information about Jane, so he can look for a means of destroying her. She mustn’t live, Gaius thought to himself. Tiger bowed his head in respect to Gaius's approval and then continued speaking;

“ Master!! There’s also farmland, close to Jane’s home, where Jane goes to gather herbs. I believe she sometimes goes to the farm alone. “ Tiger spoke out again.

Gaius was happy to hear this next information, and so he carefully walked around his stinky throne, plotting how to get her. Taking notice of all the important information he needed as he started to figure out a means of destroying Jane.

“ Is that all ?” Gaius asked Tiger. He didn’t need any more information again as he had gotten what he wanted.

Tiger saw that Gaius was pleased with the information he had showered to him. Making him happy and relieved that he wouldn’t have to be punished. He couldn’t stand the pain or bruises that came with the scorching sun. He had once been punished by his master and ever since then vowed to never fail in any mission his master sent him on.

“ Master, if I may speak again?” Tiger spoke. “ Go on.” Gaius gladly replied.

“ I suggest we attack Jane’s home during the nighttime when they wouldn’t be expecting anything,” Tiger voiced out.

“ Hmm! That’s a good idea! Nighttime is my favorite time. Especially the full moon.” Gaius laughed devilishly. He already knew how to go about the attack on Jane and was grateful to Tiger for the information he had brought to him.

“ I am very proud of you Tiger, you didn’t fail me this time,” Gaius growled out his evil laugh.

“ We will strike by midnight tomorrow! I am coming for your life Jane, expect me or not.” Gaius spoke, staring at the skies as if Jane was there listening to him speak.

Both of them let out evil laughter, so much, so loud that the walls of the cave started to c***k. Causing earthquakes and letting down sprinkles of sand and stones.
