He sighed and pulled his sh*t together, then started to just walk away from the room. Leave Augustus and the girl on their own, and stop the frenzied gossip he could someday nod along with and testify if ever that relationship was exposed.
He should not have assumed in the first place. Any expectation only comes handy when real, but disappointing when proven false. Sadly, the proof of him being delusional came so offensively.
He should not have tried to find Augustus and just waited until he sees him together with Zero Degree. That way, he would have not felt this... bad? Sad? Thoroughly disappointed?
