Kelly Stretching, Kelly cracked an eye to check on her pup and noticed the bright light of the sun just starting to peek over the horizon, turning the sky varying shades of pink, purple, and orange. Yawning, she gently caressed Griffin’s cheek, noting that the scratches on his cheeks were now gone. Picking him up out of the makeshift carrier, she inspected the rest of his chubby little body. Except for the dirty clothes and the dirty diaper, he was as good as new. She, on the other hand, felt like she had been hit by a bus. Grimacing slightly, clutching Griffin to her chest, she eased herself off the sturdy branch and down to the ground. Turning around in a circle, she quickly located her cabin.
