Chapter 1
The rain lasted all night, the sound of rain was gentle and soothing, the perfect white noise for a peaceful sleep.
At six o'clock, Emma Fenix reluctantly climbed out of bed. With her eyes still half-closed, she caught a glimpse of a white figure floating by when she went to the restroom, causing her heart to skip a beat, and her eyes widened in surprise.
The white figure floated into the kitchen, and soon Emma Fenix heard the sound of mixing and beating. The air was filled with a faint smell of cream and the aroma of baking.
Emma Fenix breathed a sigh of relief. It was just her roommate, Victor Cain.
Emma Fenix didn't have time to go to the restroom. She swallowed her saliva and headed towards the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Victor Cain's hair was covered by a black beret. She was wearing a white cotton pajama and a light yellow apron. Her expression was focused, her posture was upright, and her slender fingers holding the whisk were delicate. The skin on her face and neck appeared fair and radiant under the soft kitchen light. The curled, thick eyelashes cast a shadow on her eyes, resembling a moonlit lake - gentle, inclusive, and filled with a sense of domesticity.
As Emma Fenix, who had seen this scene many times, looked at Victor Cain, she couldn't help but feel a surge of emotions. It was a pity that Victor Cain was an alpha; if she were an omega, Emma Fenix would have done anything to marry her.
"Victor, why are you up so early making desserts?" Emma Fenix asked, her mouth watering uncontrollably.
Victor Cain had a talent for cooking and had even attended a pastry training course to improve her skills. The desserts she made were even better than those bought from outside, and most importantly, they were made with safe ingredients.
With a focused expression, Victor Cain looked up and saw Emma Fenix with a faint smile, radiating a serene and rare tranquility that made people feel emotionally stable.
Unconsciously, Emma Fenix returned the smile.
"It's Lily Yu's birthday today. I wanted to celebrate it in advance, so I'm making a cake and some dishes she likes," Victor Cain said, her voice warm and soothing, with a slow and pleasant tone.
Emma Fenix suddenly remembered.
Lily Yu was the universally recognized omega school flower at Hongcheng University, and she was also a pampered princess from a wealthy family.
Many people pursued her, but she chose Victor Cain, who came from an ordinary background.
Many people felt that Victor Cain was not worthy of Lily Yu, but those who knew them well understood how well Victor Cain treated Lily Yu.
Whatever Lily Yu wanted or liked, Victor Cain would find a way to get it for her.
As a roommate, Emma Fenix felt that Victor Cain had given too much in this relationship, while Lily Yu enjoyed all the benefits.
But that was their business, and Emma Fenix wouldn't meddle in it.
"I almost forgot in my drowsiness. Haha, can I have some of the leftovers...?" Emma Fenix didn't think much and let her saliva flow.
"I will make more. Just made according to Lily's taste, which tends to be on the sweet side. If you don't mind, you can have the extra," Victor Cain said as she continued her work, her hands not stopping.
"I don't mind, of course. If there's anything I can help with, let me know," Emma Fenix said, hearing Victor Cain's words, she knew that the extras were meant for her. She felt a bit embarrassed and wanted to lend a hand.
"No need. It's still early, you should go back to sleep for a while. I'll call you when it's ready," Victor Cain said.
Victor Cain was now measuring the ingredients precisely, down to the milligram, based on Lily Yu's taste preferences for desserts.
Emma Fenix watched Victor Cain busy herself, unable to help, she scratched her cheek.
"Lily is really lucky, and I'm lucky too, to know both of you. Sob sob... I'll treat you both to a meal another day!" Emma Fenix said to Victor Cain, her eyes shining with admiration.
Outside, the rain continued to fall, and the sound of the rain mixed with the sound of the oven running.
Victor Cain looked at the warm yellow light in the oven and then glanced at the porridge simmering on the stove.
With everything prepared and waiting, Victor Cain took out a small box from her pocket.
Opening the box and looking at the customized ring inside, Victor Cain pursed her lips, a mix of nervousness and sweet anticipation evident on her face.
This was the ring she had spent most of her savings on, a ring she had custom made to propose to her girlfriend, Lily Yu.
This year marked their third year of dating, and Victor Cain had just secured a full-time job as a senior.
"I almost forgot, I was half asleep. Hehe, can I have some leftovers...?" Emma Fenix said without much thought, her eyes gleaming.
"I'll make some extra. Just made according to Victor Cain's taste, it's on the sweet side. If you don't mind, you can have all the extra." Lily Yu said as she continued working, not stopping for a moment.
"I don't mind at all, of course not. Is there anything I can help with?" Emma Fenix said, hearing Lily Yu's words, she knew that the extra was meant for her. She felt a little embarrassed and wanted to lend a hand.
"That's not necessary, it's still early, you should go to sleep first. I'll call you when it's ready." Lily Yu said.
Lily Yu was weighing the ingredients, accurately measuring everything according to her girlfriend Victor Cain's taste when it came to desserts.
Now, the sweetness, softness, and everything else were just right for Victor Cain.
Emma Fenix looked at Lily Yu busying herself, unable to assist, and scratched her cheek.
"Victor Cain is really lucky, and I'm also very lucky to know both of you. Boo hoo hoo. I'll treat you both to a meal another day!" Emma Fenix said to Lily Yu, then quickly went to the bathroom.
Outside, the rain continued to fall, with the sound of the oven in the background.
Lily Yu glanced at the warm yellow light in the oven and then looked at the porridge simmering on the stove.
Preparations were done, and Lily Yu took out a small box from her pocket.
Opening the box and looking at the custom-made ring inside, Lily Yu pursed her lips, seemingly a bit nervous, yet overwhelmed with sweetness.
This was a ring she had spent most of her savings on, a ring she intended to use to propose to her girlfriend, Victor Cain.
This year marked the third year of Victor Cain and Lily Yu's relationship. Lily Yu was in her final year of university and had just landed a full-time job.
It wasn't the most appropriate time to get married, but Victor Cain had expressed several times that she wanted Lily Yu to mark her, complaining that the suppressants were uncomfortable and she didn't want to use them anymore.
Lily Yu was raised by her grandmother, who was a professor of Chinese studies. Because her parents were focused on their careers and not very attentive to family matters, she had always yearned for a stable and warm family.
With her grandmother's teachings, in her understanding, only after getting married could an alpha mark her omega.
From the first day of dating Victor Cain, Lily Yu had her sights set on marriage. So, after careful consideration, Lily Yu decided to propose to Victor Cain on her birthday.
If the proposal was successful, they would get married after graduation.
