Chapter 3: Liu Wang Lei

1224 Words
Ten days passed after that incident, wherein Qin Ling knew that there’s something wrong with the young master. Everyday he became weaker, where he couldn’t sleep comfortably at night and always scream or jolting upon nightmares. And all the servants could do was provide herbs and incense in hopes of helping his situation. Gravely as it is, the clan leader became impatient. She often visit the young master’s quarters in fear that something might happen, yet the young master’s siblings were nowhere to be found. As the first sect and clan leader of the Heavenly Destroyer Sect, Liu Li Wei knew how hard it was for her clan ancestors to forge this sect without anxiety of what will happen to their offsprings. Her ancestors forged different techniques to parry the anonymous event and it was always cultivated by the younger generation in preparation for this event’s occurrence. All of her ancestors were focused on saving the younger generation to the point they never thought about forging a sect until one of them started gathering treasures for this plan. And this is the reason why the Heavenly Destroyer Sect is now standing above the earth, and the first one to bear the responsibility was the eldest daughter. Behind Liwei’s facade was the vulnerable image of a mother, loathing the heavens because of the curse that might take her child away from her arms. Even though the young master was apathetic at times, he still knew respect and affection. This trait to control one’s emotions was someone of different caliber, enough to turn a whole army upside down. With the arts of the Heavenly Destroyer Sect, the young master will be the most formidable and will raise their name in the martial arts world. If she could, she will choose another successor aside from her children— yet she signed a pact with her father that the bloodline will continue only from her and her offsprings. The Black Moonlight Peak was the place where the manor of the successor reside. Surrounding this peak is a dark forest that reaches few kilometers and few miles away from the main palace of the sect. And the reason why it was secluded was due to this reason, the conflicts and blood inheritable disease of the Liu Clan was always concealed and was never disclosed to outsiders aside from the physicians whom worked for them. A servant was lowly walking toward the chamber of the successor, deep heaving a breath as he knew the circumstances. After all, the servants were no ordinary than the others in different sects. They were ex-convicts that was sold to the Liu Clan, and the reason why the clan accepted such people was still unknown. A low gentle voice came from the servant: “Young master.” He gently knocked at the door before opening it slightly to peek inside. And there he saw the young master sitting by the window, wearing his black robe which was gracefully patterned by silver clouds and the way it shone despite of the dim light in the peak shows the excellence and professionalism in the handiwork. With his eyes fixated on the skies and the dark hued trees, the young master lowly uttered: “I want to go outside.” This statement made the servant lower his head. He uttered worriedly: “I’m afraid I cannot let you do that, young master, with your current health you wouldn’t be able to leave the forest.” The young master gripped the white cloth on his hand, closing his eyes before the force he exerted resile. He wiped his own sweat with the white cloth and saw the signs of his body cleansing, due to the black liquid on the white cloth. He handed the cloth to the servant which the servant immediately took with care, “We can go to the town, young master!” The servant whipped his head as he frowned, but that expression immediately faded away when he saw the second young master. As his eyes brightened, the young master called him: “Wang Lei.” The man with the hair embraced by the night sky akin to the clan leader was Liu Wang Lei, the second son of Liu Li Wei. With his cerulean eyes and great facial features, he was considered as the son with the beauty warring the princes of the other kingdoms. As he didn’t inherit any of the clan leader’s dominating characteristics— Wanglei inherited their father’s wits and bright personality. He was not gifted in the arts of swordmanship, but he’s gifted in war tactics and movements. The second young master grinned before crossing his arms by his chest, leaning on the side of the door. He stared at his brother for awhile before heaving a breath, and said: “What the heck happened to you, Brother Shu?” He asked jokingly yet the trace of worry was heard in his tone of voice. His elder brother only shallowly smiled, uttering no word, or even a gesture. After realizing that he stood there idly, the servant immediately shook his head to pay respects to the second young master. As the second young master gestured the servant to leave, the servant immediately took the bowl where he placed the cloth that the first young master used, which Wang Lei noticed. Even though he’s a mischievous child, he isn’t dumb. He has his ways of knowledge and information inside and outside of the sect. With things going on now, he couldn’t help but make his expression grim. “Don’t be like that.” The statement the first young master uttered made Wang Lei regain his wits, and he immediately smiled while scratching his head. “Ah! Do you want to go to the town right beneath the peak?” He asked in a wily manner. The first young master tilted his head in confusion and asked: “There’s a town in beneath the peak?” As far as he knows, there’s no other life in the sect aside from the manors. “Yes, uncle Rong Ning saved few townsfolk from a siege ten days ago! And mother said they can settle beneath your peak, and I personally asked mother about this and she specifically agreed regarding the idea.” Placing both of his hands on his waist as he boasted about his mother’s approval of his idea was new to the first young master’s sight, making him chuckle a little bit. “Is that so?” The first young master stood and slowly walked toward Wang Lei. Even though nothing much changed in his expression, his breath was heavy as he struggled balancing himself, the first young master uttered: “If that’s the case, I would like to meet them.” The second young master immediately supported his brother as he saw how slow he walked. Seeing his brother chuckle was a new sight, and he thought that maybe it was brought by his current situation. How he had wished that his brother treated him like this earlier.
