“What? I was already asleep last night. Where do you think I would go?”
“Then why are your ears red?” Miko said.
Without thinking, I touched my ears to cover it. Everyone looked at me, and I could see them smile at me.
"Cut it out, Miko." I said,
"Why? What did I do to you? I was just telling you that your ears were red." He said, laughing.
"Is it love?" Cynthia said, joining Miko to tease me.
“Not you to Cynthia.” I sighed.
Everyone laughed because of my reaction. I looked at Miko like I was stabbing daggers towards him. He did not realize that I got annoyed. After talking, I left and headed to my room.
Finally, I can breathe now.
“Are you okay?”
I forgot that Sun was in my room for a moment. With his question, I realized that he kept on asking how I was feeling. He always sees me at my weakest point.
“Yes,I am fine.” I said and sat down on the bed.
“Are you sure. I can hear from this room that you are having fun outside. Why are you frowning when you come back?”
“They were teasing me, that’s why. My friend went a bit overboard and that's why I got annoyed.” I said,
I looked at Sun and he just smiled at me.
“I remembered that you can go to a place as long as I am there, right?”
He looked at me, puzzled by my question. “Yes, as long as your presence is there, I can go.”
“Then why don’t you go with me when I go out?”
His expression brightened after hearing what I said. He looked excited.
“Can I really do that?”
“Of course, so that you won’t feel lonely here inside the room. I don’t want you to feel that you are like a prisoner. You need to get some fresh air too, even if you are a ghost.”
I was surprised by what happened next. Instead of responding, Sun blinked towards me and hugged me. Even for a second, I can feel him on my body. Before I knew it, he was back on the couch.
“Oops. I forgot. I don’t have a physical body. Silly me. Still, thank you so much Ray.”
“Sure, no problem Sun.” I said, smiling at him.
“It’s getting late now, you should go to sleep already.” He said.
After talking about a few random things, I did not realize that I was drifting off to sleep already. All I can remember was Sun, smiling at me and giving me a warm gaze. It was a feeling that was too familiar for me, but I cannot remember well.
---
I woke up from the sound of the roosters again, serving as our alarm. It was five in the morning. I looked at the couch to check if Sun was still there, and he was still sleeping. I picked up my towel and went to the bathroom to clean myself. After half an hour, I went out and checked on him again. The pouch that I was holding fell on the floor because of what I saw.
“Sun!” I called. He was not responding. His body was getting more transparent. As soon as the ray of the sun hit the window, he disappeared into thin air.
What just happened?
