Chapter 41

We hurried going out of the house and headed to where the others were waiting. I don’t know but I felt some pain in my heart leaving Sun alone in my room. If only he could go with me, but their safety is more important than anything else. After running towards the office, most of our staff were carrying flashlights to begin to search for Lena. Maria and her father were standing there, worried about what was happening. I can also hear Cynthia was scolding Lena’s father. 

As soon as we arrived, everyone looked at me. 

“Sir, we are really sorry to cause trouble at this hour specially you are not feeling that well.” Cynthia said. Maria and his father bowed towards me, apologizing. 

“That’s fine, everyone. Raise your head, everyone. Now tell me, what happened?” I asked. 

“Before that, the others will start the search for Lena. We need to find her as soon as we can, because of the weather forecast.” Cynthia answered. 

“Weather forecast. Oh, I remember, there will be heavy rains tonight, and it will be dangerous if the road gets muddy and slippery.” Miko said. 

“That’s right, Sir. So if you give them permission, they will go now.” 

“You should have started the search already, not waiting for my permission. With this kind of situation, you should go ahead already.” I said. 

“We are sorry Sir. Okay, everyone, let’s head out.” Cynthia said, 

After everyone left, Maria was left and his father. I can see their worried faces, and it felt like their father regretted what happened. 

“We are really sorry Sir, causing all this ruckus especially when you are resting.” The two of them said, and not looking at me. 

“That’s okay. Our priority is to find Lena as soon as we can. Is there something wrong? Did you say something to Lena?” I said.

“I had an argument with my daughter earlier today, because of what she wanted to do. I know I shouldn’t have stopped her from doing what she likes, but I was just worried about our current situation. I don’t know if I can fully support her, financially speaking. I told Lena that she could wait for another year, but I guess she misunderstood what I was saying.”  

“I see, so that’s the reason why she didn't show herself, after that?” I asked. 

“Yes, Sir and I am really sorry about that.” 

“Don’t worry. I’ll help to look for Lena, and I think I know where she is.” I said.

“But Ray, you are still not feeling well.” Miko said, and was about to stop me. 

“It’s okay, Miko. We will be back soon okay. You stay here on standby and get our nurse ready once we come back, okay?” I said. 

“I guess I have no choice.” Miko answered. 

I hurriedly went to the office and picked up a cap and one of our emergency phones. I also took a flashlight and began heading to the spot where Lena brought me before. I hope nothing bad will happen tonight.
