Episode 40

“But..

“No buts, and I am okay. I just really spaced out earlier. Wait for me there, I’ll finish soon.” I said. 

Sun did not say anything and sat down on the bed. After a minute, someone was knocking on the door. It was Miko. 

“Ray, we have an emergency!” Miko said, catching his breath. 

“Eh, what?” I said and stood up, putting the dustpan and broom on the floor. 

Miko was panting heavily. “I-it’s about Lena.” 

“What about her?” I asked. I suddenly felt nervous when thoughts came flooding into my mind. 

“She was missing. After lunch, she did not return back to the office, and we thought that she was just tired. Later today, Maria was looking for her, and she told us that there were no signs of her sister.”  Miko said. 

“Where are they?” I asked. 

“Maria and the others are waiting outside.” I said. 

I hurriedly picked up a cardigan from my closet and took my car keys as well. “Let’s go.” 

We were about to leave and I suddenly remembered Sun. He was still sitting on the bed, just staring at us. 

“Sun, I’m sorry, but I need to go with them. Lena is missing, I’m really sorry.” I said, worried about leaving him behind.

“That’s fine, Ray. Go ahead and look for Lena first. Your employees are more important.” He said. 

“Okay, I’ll get back as soon as I can.” I said.

We hurried going out of the house and headed to where the others were waiting. I don’t know but I felt some pain in my heart leaving Sun alone in my room.
