Chapter 35

We were left in the room and silence filled in. Both Sun and I were busy thinking about what happened earlier.  “Sun, what are you feeling right now?” I asked.  “To be honest, I am shocked by what happened earlier. I don’t know what triggered Miko to see me. I can’t explain my feelings now because it’s all mixed up. I don’t know if I should be happy, but I can feel some fear too.” Sun sighed.  “Fear?”  “It’s fear of the unknown. It’s like with you, who are living. Of course, everyone will be afraid if they found out about a ghost. In my case, it’s because I don’t have memories of when I was living.”  Sun is right. We fear what we know nothing of. “I understand Sun, and I am sorry. Did it make you uncomfortable, about earlier?”  He shook his head. “No. It’s okay, but let’s be happy. I guess everything has reasons why this is happening. As for what the shaman told you, he might be right.”  “Well, there are parts that might be accurate, but I will not believe that you will bring us trouble.” I smiled.  My phone suddenly rang. Sun and I were both surprised because we were busy talking. I hurriedly picked up the phone, and this time it’s an unknown number again. Worried that it might be Pine, I have no choice but to answer because this might be one of our clients. “Hello?” I answered, Sun looking at me with curiosity.  “Finally, you picked up.” The woman on the other line said.  My hands began shaking all of a sudden. Everytime I hear their voice, I feel uncomfortable. “Are you okay?” Sun asked. The one who was talking with me on the other line was my sister.  “Hey, Ray? Are you still there? If I hadn't called you using a different number, I would have not reached you. I have something to tell you.” My sister said. “W-what is it?” My voice cracked.  “It’s about our Father… As soon as I heard the word, I dropped the call and threw it on the bed. Sun was surprised by how I acted. I can see his worried face.  “Ray? I think you should drink water first. Calm down.” Sun said. I felt that he was frustrated because he cannot do what he wants to do, especially because he cannot touch things.  Inhaling and exhaling slowly, I picked up a glass of water and drank it. After a few minutes, I was already calm and sat down beside Sun.  “Thank you Sun. Don’t worry, I am okay now.” I said.  “Is it okay if I ask who called you?”  “No problem. It was my sister, and she wants to tell me about my father.” I answered, forcing a smile so that Sun wouldn’t worry again.  “Are you now on good terms?” He asked.  “Well, sort of. It’s a long story, but to sum it up. I was a bit of an outcast, that’s why I reacted like that. Also, it’s one of the reasons why I decided to stay and manage my farm here.”  “I see, I wouldn’t ask about it anymore. I guess we should rest now, Ray.” Sun suggested.  “Okay, let’s hit the bed now.” I looked at the watch and it’s already twelve in the evening.  Sun was about to walk towards the couch, but I stopped him.  “You can sleep on the bed with me.”
