Chapter 68

“Seems like it. Let’s listen to them.” Sun answered. My heart almost jumped out of my chest because of what happened next. I felt his cold hands against mine. At first, I did not budge, but Sun realized it, and pulled his hands away. We looked around if everyone noticed, but there was no one looking at us.

“Sorry.” Sun said.

“N-no, it’s fine.” I said, and we headed to the table.

After finishing all the preparations, the people gathered around the table. There were a lot of dishes placed on the table. It looked like a feast. Aside from the elegant parties and buffet that I attended, this is really different from what I had. The scent of the fresh vegetables and meat, the firewood, the smoke. Everything is different. I noticed that simple things like this make them happy.

“Everyone, please give me your attention.” Austin said, clearing his throat. Everyone looked at him and stopped what they were doing.

“Our celebration today is really important because this is the time that we give thanks to our good harvest. In addition to that, we have a new addition to our big family. Let us formally welcome Sir Ray, Sir Miko and Sir Sun. Please give them a round of applause.” Austin said, clapping his hands.

Everyone followed and I also heard them cheering.

“Any words for our workers?” Austin said.

I moved towards where he was and looked around. It felt like they were anticipating what I was going to say. I looked at Sun and Miko, and both of them were smiling at me.

“What should I say? Hmmn, actually, ever since I was born, this was the first time I experienced an event like this. Usually, I attend a lot of parties but this is different. This feels better than what I have before. So, I want everyone to enjoy it.” I said.

Everyone applauded after I finished talking.

“So what are we waiting for, let’s eat” Miko shouted. Everyone cheered after hearing that.

I slowly moved back to where Miko and Sun were. We began to eat as well, as everyone began to talk about random things. Some workers approached me, giving me a lot of food. It was really fun interacting with them like this. The night continued as everyone had fun, but I excused myself because I felt tired already. Miko stayed with them, while Sun went with me back to the room.

“Did you have fun?” I asked.

“Yes, it was really fun.” Sun smiled.
