“Everything is pretty amusing.” Rosalia said, 

“Amusing? Why do you say so?” I said, and smiled at my sister.

“I can feel that you are really into that person. Even though I am not with you for the longest time, I can still tell based on your actions. So be honest with me, what do you feel about that boy?” My sister said, looking me in the eye. She is doing her best to get an answer from me, and for what reason? 

“Is that what you really came here for, Rosalia?” I laughed. 

“No, not really. But after seeing what happened earlier, should you still hide things from me?” She said, 

What is she really up to this time? “Well, you know our history? I am pretty sure that you know what happened within our family.” 

“That’s old news already, my dear brother. I will not pry into your love business, but if something happens, you know what I will do with that kid.” Rosalia warned. 

“Well, why do you care about the things I do now? Change of heart? Or are you scheming something again.” I said to her frankly. There is no use if I keep the conversation longer. 

“I’m still your sister. Fine, I will not ask anything about your love life. The real reason I was here was about our father, Abraham.” Rosalia said. I noticed the disgust in his face when she mentioned that name. What happened? Something weird happened while I was busy on the farm.

“Wait, what about that man?” I asked.

“Well, I decided to leave him like what you did.” Rosalia said.

“Why? Are you not happy that you and our other brother will share the benefits if you are under him. You also know that he will get mad if her favorite daughter decides to betray him.” I said, looking at her seriously. 

“I will tell you some other time, but please trust me. I am on your side, from the very beginning.” She said, 

“You were on my side? Is that a joke?” My voice raised, looking at her. 

“I really am. I know you won’t believe me, but what happened in the past, all those things were to protect you.” She said, 

All that she was saying now was making my heart confused. I don’t know what to feel, but remembering all the things that happened in the past made my heart hurt even more. All the things that I suffered, and now my sister will tell me that she is doing all those things to protect me? From what? She should have stayed with me a;ll those times instead. 

“But why Rosalia? After all that time?” I asked, and the pain in my voice showed. 

“Just trust me this time, Ray. I know after everything that happened, it will be hard to forgive me.” Rosalia answered. I can feel the sincerity from her voice. Should I give her a chance?

A lot of thoughts were running at that time in my head. The fact that my sister is already apologizing for the things that happened from the past, I know something was really off. Not with my sister, but with our household.
