Blue Hour

Chapter 6

Throughout the week, Ray was bothered ever since the unknown man appeared in front of him. After that incident, there was no sighting or any other incidents that happened within that span of time. Ray felt confident that there will be no more incidents like that. 

On the other hand, the rumors started to spread again like wildfire after what happened to him. Everyone around the farm kept talking that Ray was haunted by the spirit of the Mango orchard. Some say that their boss will experience bad luck after the encounter. A lot of things were circulating not even on the farm, but also around the neighbouring areas. 

“Have you heard?” Miko said. 

“About what? Is this about that incident again. Rumors spread faster than we thought.” Ray said while checking the accounting reports for the month. He was busy checking on the status of the farm and his other business to bother about such things. 

“Yes, and they kept on talking about what happened. Some were becoming afraid because of that.” Miko answered, and picked up some papers to review. 

Ray suddenly remembered the man that he saw. His complexion was really pale, as if no blood was flowing around his body. He was wearing a yellow hoodie, with a logo of a smiling sun. To think if that person is a thief, he sure has a weird taste with clothes. The thing that really troubled him was when he tried to hold the man, but he passed through in thin air. 

“Please call on the employees later, I will announce something, also the rules about the farm.” Ray said.

“Understood. I’ll tell everyone right away.” Miko said and hurriedly fixed the papers before leaving. 

After Miko left, Ray put down the pen and looked at the window from the office. The weather was nice, relieving all the fatigue that he had after starting on working for the welfare of the farm. It’s not like the farm is going on the rocks, but the sales were not that high. He needs to properly supervise the farm so that the employees will benefit a lot aside from him. He wants to make sure that all of his employees will earn well, and they can support their family properly. Well, it might take some time, but everyone needs to work together. 

Late in the afternoon, everyone gathered at the office like Ray asked to. Some of them were curious why their boss called them all of a sudden. 

“Thank you for coming, everyone, and I appreciate it. After being here for a week and checking the accounts of our farm, I figured out everything is okay and running normal. But I don’t want that to stop there. I want the farm to excel more so that it can support all of you working under me. I want you to earn properly so that you won’t have problems with your finances. I know that might sound impossible, but I want everyone to work together. My only request is, since you have been here for a long time already, please guide me. I am hoping for your cooperation in this one.” Ray said and looked at everybody. He was worried about their response, as it was his first time to say things like this. 

There was a minute of silence, then everyone started clapping.  Ray felt happy after getting that response. Now, all they need to do is work on the future of the Wish and Fly Farm. H
