Chapter 77

Pine posted our photo on her social media account, and in an instant it was the talk of the town already. They kept on asking who she was with, and they were speculating that it was me. After going, I went straight to sleep. That's why I did not know what was really happening. Miko kept on calling me, but I was not able to respond because sleep is what matters to me the most that time. 

The next day, I was shocked by the notifications from Miko. There were a lot of missed calls and text messages. While preparing for school, I called him. 

“Hey, what’s wrong and you kept calling me yesterday?” I asked, not knowing everything. 

“Finally, Ray! I sent you text messages, did you not read them? Did you go out with Pine the other day? Are you the boy beside him? Come on, you are now again the talk in the school.” He asked, and his voice was rising. 

“Yes, that’s me. What do you mean?” I asked. 

“You wouldn’t believe it. I will tell you at school, but please prepare yourself. The attention of the people will be on you again, especially since you changed now.” Miko said. 

“Okay, fine. See you at school.” I said and hung up. 

What  does he mean? Nothing has changed. After preparing, our driver picked me up and went to school. As soon as I entered the gate, the attention was on me. It was nerve wracking. Is there something wrong? I noticed that the girls were shyly looking at me, and the others were squealing as if there was an artist around. Meanwhile, some boys looked at me with disgust. 

I just followed Pine’s recommendation that I should keep the same hairstyle yesterday and that’s what I did. Nothing has changed, it was the plain old me with hair brushed up showing my shiny forehead. 

One of the students bravely approached me. “ Are you Mr. De Luna?” 

“Yes, why?” I said, and continued walking. I heard them behind my back that their guess was correct. The attention that I am getting now really is making me uncomfortable. I even heard that I looked cold but it was so cool for them. Arriving at the classroom, it was the same or should I say even worse. The attention was really killing me. As soon as I entered, they started to chatter. 

On the other hand, my friend was beaming with a wide smile. 

“So, there you are. Wow, are you the male version of cinderella? Except for the fact that you are insanely rich, you evolved like some sort of pocket monster.” Miko laughed. 

I raised my eyebrows and looked at him. He was making it worse, because the students talked even more. 

“I don’t know what you're talking about, but it’s the same old me.” I said and sat down on the chair. 

“Wow, you even looked more unapproachable now because your looks got upgraded. It feels like you are the Ice Prince now, and the way that you are acting. Oh my god, how lucky that I have a handsome friend like you, but I am even more handsome.” Miko said. 

I cannot help myself, and burst out laughing because of what my friend said. While we were talking, the room even got noisier as soon as Pine entered.
