Blue Hour

Chapter 114

Mercedes rushed towards the bathroom and began to vomit. She was feeling nauseous yesterday, and now she can't hold it anymore.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Roman asked.

"Yes, I am. I think I just need more sleep." She said,

"Okay, if you say so." Roman said.

The next day, everything got worse because Mercedes was not able to stand up from her bed. She complained that she was so dizzy and always had the urge to vomit. Roman and everyone from the farm was worried, because after the success that they have, in exchange, this is what happened to her. 

Roman insisted to his wife that he needs to bring him to the hospital, but Mercedes was firm to stay in the house. She said that she just needs to lie down and will recover soon enough. Not wanting to argue with her wife, Roman just listened to her. 

Something was weird though, Mercedes began to request foods, weird ones and most of them are not in season. She kept on asking if they could make her some foods, especially, sunflower seeds. She also told Roman to bring a sunflower inside their room. 

Mercedes was getting a bit grumpy when her request was not given. This continued for the next few days. Luckily, Roman was able to find a way to look for a sunflower plant. They placed a lot and planted it on the window. They also ordered a lot of sunflower seeds, and Mercedes would eat nonstop. 

When Roman and Austin left the room, they decided to take a rest first. They were so tired about what happened and everything that Mercedes asked. 

“Don’t you think that Ma’am Mercedes is pregnant?” Austin said. 

“How do you say so? I hope what you are saying right now is true, Austin. I will get her anything that she wants.” Roman said, 

“It’s just a hunch but the way that she is acting now, it feels like she is really pregnant. That is what I observed with my sister. She kept on asking for things that she was craving. It is better if we can bring a doctor to check her, or tell her to visit and ob gyne too.” Austin said, 

“Well, there is no finding out if we don’t try.” Roman said, 

After that, Roman began to tell Mercedes that they needed to visit a doctor to check on her condition.  After several attempts, Mercedes finally agreed. Roman did not tell the reason why but he told her that it’s only a medical check up.
