Chapter 143

583 Words
“Sorry, Sun and Lena. I forgot to introduce them to you. This is Rodolfo, our butler from my family’s house and this is my sister, Rosalia.” I said,  “Nice to meet you.” Lena and Sun answered in chorus and bowed their heads.  “It seems that you found good friends with you.” Rodolfo said, smiling widely.  “Yes.” I answered. I looked around the surroundings and it was radiating with warm energy. I don’t know but that moment was only filled with happiness, which made me really happy.  “Let’s save this later, everyone. We will go back, and you can talk as much as you want.” Rosalia said,  “Miko, you take care of the two.” I said, and left together with my sister and Rodolfo. After arriving at the car, I can feel the two looking at me.  I sat down beside my sister, while Rodolfo sat beside the driver. I don’t know but instead of feeling awkward, I feel comfortable. Maybe it was because Rodolfo was here, one of the people that I can really trust the most. The sound of the engine filled the inside of the car, and after a few minutes, we departed from the hotel. At first, it was really awkward because no one was talking, and no one knew where to start.  Rodolfo was also reading the atmosphere and I can feel that he was observing us. There were really a lot of things going on now in my head, and I started to feel suffocated. I was about to open my mouth when Rodolfo suddenly spoke.  “You know what, I remember the two of you when you were younger. I believe you were only three that time, Ray. You were both riding the car I was driving, and you were happily playing. Your mother was still alive at that time, but her condition was getting worse. To prevent you from crying, Rosalia always held your hand, Ray.” Rodolfo said.  Hearing what he was saying right now, are we really that close way back when we were younger? What exactly happened before? All I can remember was I was blamed when my mother died at that age.  “I am pretty sure that he cannot remember that, but what Rodolfo said was the truth. Well, you don’t need to know about that since all of it is in the past.” My sister said,  After hearing what my sister said, everything went awkward again. The silence was unbearable, and since Rodolfo worked for us before, he remained as he is. Like when he was taking care of us, he would only speak when needed or when no one could see us.  This continued until we arrived at the cemetery where my mother was. Her mausoleum was located at the far end of the place, and we had to walk there since cars are not already allowed inside. How many years had passed since I last visited my mother’s grave?  I took out my wallet and pulled out the small pouch in there. It was made from a small purple linen, and it was embedded with an image of a lily. I had this ever since I was a kid, and kept it well since it was only the memory that I had with my mother.  I don’t know but the feeling of loneliness crept on my body as soon as we approached my mother’s grave.
