He believes in control, calculation, and contracts. He built his empire from nothing and crushed anyone who stood in his way. Love is a weakness he can not afford.Yet from the moment Serena dances, he sees something no one else notices.Fear hidden behind elegance.Defiance buried beneath obedience. And a darkness that mirrors his own.Adrian offers Serena a six-month contract that promises wealth, protection, and a new identity. All she has to do is live under his roof, follow his rules, and never lie to him.But Serena is already living a lie.Years ago, she was framed for a crime that destroyed her family. Her sister vanished. Her name became poison. The people responsible still walk free—and they would kill her if they discovered she is alive. As Serena is pulled deeper into Adrian’s world of penthouses, private jets, corporate wars, and ruthless enemies, attraction ignites between them—dangerous, undeniable, and forbidden by the very terms of their contract.Adrian begins to want more than control.Serena begins to want more than safety. Both of them are hiding truths capable of destroying everything.Because Serena isn’t just dancing to survive. She is dancing to get close enough to the truth. And Adrian Blackwood isn’t just protecting her.He is slowly falling for a woman whose past may be tied to the greatest betrayal of his life.In a world where power decides who lives and who disappears, love becomes the most dangerous gamble of all. Some dances end in applause.Others end in blood.

Chapter 1 – The Girl in Red
The first rule of the ballroom was simple: never look at the audience. Serena Vale broke it the moment she stepped into the light. The music began softly—a slow waltz drifting across the massive underground hall. Gold chandeliers reflected off polished marble floors, throwing glittering patterns onto the crowd. Everything shimmered. Everything lied. She lifted her chin, spine straight, shoulders relaxed. A crimson gown hugged her body perfectly, its back plunging low, fabric dusted with a faint shimmer. The dress was beautiful, but it was also armor. Her heels clicked softly as she moved, body swaying in perfect rhythm. Years of training guided every spin, every step, every breath. Spin. Step. Glide. She became someone else on the floor. Not the girl who slept in a tiny apartment with a leaky ceiling. Not the girl who woke from nightmares soaked in sweat. Not the girl who still heard police sirens echo in her mind. Here, she was flawless. Untouchable. Invisible to the chaos of her own life. Until she felt him. At first, it was just pressure—a shift in the air. Her next spin faltered. Instinct screamed before her mind could catch up. Someone was watching her differently. Not with hunger. Not with amusement. Not lazily entertained. With focus. Pure, sharp focus. Her eyes betrayed her. Across the room, in the darkest corner, sat a man dressed in black. No smile. No drink. No companion. He didn’t clap. He didn’t move. His gaze locked onto her like a predator who had already chosen his prey. Serena’s pulse quickened. She almost missed a step. Recovering quickly, she continued, but her heart thumped in a rhythm that matched the music—fast, uneven, impossible to ignore. The audience was gone. Only his eyes remained. Unblinking. Unforgiving. When the final note faded, she froze in her ending pose. Silence. Then applause erupted, thunderous and overwhelming. Serena bowed, forcing calm onto her face. She did not look at him again. Backstage smelled of perfume, sweat, and tension. Dancers whispered, laughed, adjusted makeup. Serena reached for her robe. “Serena.” Her stomach dropped. Only one person used that name here: Madame Lorne, the owner of the ballroom, a woman whose sharp eyes missed nothing. “You have a private request.” Serena’s lips parted. “I… I don’t do private sessions.” Madame Lorne’s smile was thin, almost predatory. “He didn’t ask for a dance.” Serena froze. “Then… what did he ask for?” Madame’s eyes gleamed. “He asked for you.” A pause. “Me?” Madame nodded. “And he pays ten times your usual rate.” Serena’s chest tightened. “No.” Madame’s expression softened just enough to be dangerous. “He isn’t used to hearing that word.” “I don’t care.” “He offers more than money,” Madame said quietly. “A contract. Housing. Protection. Everything you’ve ever wanted… at a price.” Serena swallowed hard. “What price?” “You belong to him. Six months. No exceptions.” The walls of her world seemed to close in. “Belong?” Madame stepped aside. “Then walk out that door.” Serena took one step. Then another. Her body wanted to run, but her mind knew the truth: running had never saved her. Slowly, she turned back. “I’ll meet him.” Madame smiled faintly. “Good choice.” Serena didn’t know why her hands shook, or why her heart pounded like a drum in her chest. Only one thing was certain: the man in black hadn’t just watched her dance. He had chosen her. And her life would never be the same.
