Chapter 5 - Creepy Guy

Summer... it was my most hated season out of the four ones. I hated the sun that was scorching hot entirely especially during lunchtime because we usually eat outside that is why this season, we always eat in the cafeteria where lots of people are. I hated some people who smells sweat every time they come back from outside the room. Other than that, my hair! My hair always feels dry nowadays because of the f*****g heat and I can’t stand it.

I hated summer but since that, I met him during this season, I chose to calm myself all the time and not think of the negative things that make me hate the summer season.

We are gathered in the cafeteria today to eat our lunch when I noticed everyone started to stand up from their seats because of a certain someone that came inside. I didn’t pay any attention and decided to put all of the lunch boxes from the bag that Ethan gave me a while ago on the table. Sherrie and Caroline just looked at me in disbelief because we usually order food.

Caroline and Sherrie have been my friend since childhood since my father was friends with their fathers before we were even born in the world.

Caroline Jones came from a wealthy family which owns famous hotels and restaurants all over the world. She loves food but despite eating them so much, she still has such a great figure that could be compared to a model because of her height and portions. Well, she is really a model. A model of her family's business at least. She is a beauty with green eyes and blonde hair.

Sherrie Cooper, on the other hand, came from a wealthy family which owns the airlines all over the world. She is also a beauty but compared to Caroline, she isn’t that girl crush kind of vibe, she is somewhat the cute one in our group. She has brown eyes and brown soft curly hair.

“This is new,” Caroline said unexpectedly.

“Really new.” Sherried agreed, looking at the three lunchboxes on the table. It was many for one person. I could never finish this in one go but… I don’t want to share this with anyone too. So, I will do my best to finish it all even if it takes me hours to do so.

“So, are you really not going to tell us who the person is?” Sherried asked now but I acted as if I wasn’t listening to her at all just like what I had been doing a while ago because they have been pestering me since we came to school.

“Person?” Someone asked all of a sudden and unexpectedly put his arm over my shoulder. Everyone became silent after that and the two in front of me looked entirely surprised to see the man beside me calmly sitting.

“Put your hands away from me,” I stated pissed but he didn’t do so.

“Wow. Bento!” He said excitedly and snatched the spoon on my hand out of the blue but before he got to get one on my food, I pushed it aside right that instant, so that he couldn’t get any.

“What are you doing?” He asked in disbelief but I simply scoffed at him.

“No. What are you doing? Acting like as if I know you when I clearly don’t and may I mind you, what happened this early morning is still in my head and I will never forgive that bodyguard of yours for his petty moves to attract my attention.” I said and he burst into laughter after that.

“Wow! You catch on so fast.” He said amazed by what I said. As I have thought, that bodyguard was already doing it on purpose since there is no way that he would be doing that to a certain girl like me who was already known all over the world.

“If I guessed it right then, please leave,” I said and snatched my spoon now in his hand.

“I transferred here because of you.” He said which made everyone start to buzz like some kind of bee around the room.

“As if I care,” I said with a bored tone in my voice.

“You will care because…” He went closer to me to whisper something.

“I will make your life into a living hell if you don’t do so.” He said which made me stiffen from where I was sitting. He sounded off and terrifying so, as much as possible I will try my best to avoid him from now on.

“Please chose another girl to play with,” I said and was about to start eating when he talked once again.

“I am not playing.” He said seriously.

“I like you Ms. Natalie and I will make you mine whatever it takes.” He added which made everyone squeal as if they were watching some kind of romantic scene but this is far from being romantic because of this man… I feel like there is something odd about him and I don’t like it at all. He is a creepy guy and I will distance myself from him if I want to end my senior high school life peacefully.

“I will never fall for you,” I said emphasizing every word that I have said but he just smirked after that.

“Oh. You will eventually fall to my charms and you will become mine in the end. It will take time but it will happen in the end.” He said and finally stood up from the seat, leaving us at the table completely dumbfounded.

Everyone went back to their seats after they recovered from what just happened while the two in front of me just kept on staring as if they can’t believe what just happened.

“He likes you! OH! MY GOSH!” Caroline said excitedly but stopped when she realized that she was the only one excited about it.

“Don’t worry Sherrie. I don’t like him, not even a bit.” I said reassuring her because she became quiet after hearing that guy say that.

"No. It's alright. It's not like you can make him like somebody else." She said and began to eat. Caroline must have felt the awkwardness around us that is why she decided to cheer us up especially Sherrie by asking me for the last time who was the person I like. I gave up in the end and later on told them who he was.

"His name is Ethan," I said smiling.

"And..." Caroline was waiting for more and so is Sherrie whose face lightened up.

"He is my brother's friend. I just met him but like hell. I want him so badly even if he is older than me or even came from a poor family." I said which made them gasp.

"He got you hard!" Caroline commented.

"So... do you think he likes you too?" Sherrie now asked.

"Of course. Who wouldn't like Natalie, right, Nat?" Caroline asked which made my smile fade away.

"I don't think he does," I said which made them look worried.

"Why?" Sherrie asked now.

"It feels like he is treating me like a younger sister and isn't looking at me like I am some kind of woman. I mean, he always laughs at me every time I try to impress him. He always sees me at my worst but acts as if it doesn't matter to him. And... most importantly this meal. Isn't he treating me like I am some kind of kid?" I asked when the realization hit me.

"How long has it been since you met him?" Caroline asked now.

"A day," I answered which only made her burst into laughter. Everyone looked in our direction because of her that is why she decided to stop immediately.

"Gosh! Nat, you have to know him more first." She started controlling her laughter.

"I don't need to. My decision is already final and that is I will make him love me." I said confidently but she laughed once again.

"What are you even laughing?" I asked in disbelief and that made her stop.

"Look, Nat. You will never know that a person likes you for one day and you just met him too that day. Even if it's love at first sight, still you need to get to know each other to see if you will match or not in the long run. You will have plenty of time to do that, am I right? Where is he staying now?" She asked now.

"At my house. He is with my brother." I replied which made her smile so widely.

"For how long?" Sherrie asked now looking happy.

"It's their vacation so, I think a month or so? I don't know." I responded and they suddenly squealed.

"That is your chance to make him fall. Grab it and make him all yours." She stated but I only frowned.

"How?" I asked which made their eyes widen.

"Don't ask me. I have never liked anyone yet. Boys always come to me so, I can't tell you anything that might help." Caroline answered.

"Me too. I never had a boyfriend since I have liked only one person since I saw him at the party." Sherrie answered and I know who she was referring to.

"Alright. I will just search on the internet and find some things that will help me." I said and they reached for my hand out of a sudden.

"We wish you good luck," Caroline said, tightening her grip and I smiled at her after that.

I don't know what will happen from now on but I will try my best to make him look at me differently.

I started to eat the food that was in front of me and finished it all before the clock strike to one and in time for our next subject for the afternoon.
