Once Upon A Princess

Eyes like the color of the blue sea that matches her red thin rosy lips, a light brown wavy hair, and a body that seems to be sculpted in perfection. Her features from head to toe are what they call perfect. A lady who was regarded to have everything from her looks, wealth, brain, and fame. She has it all and was called the gem of the society of the country Asteria and even around the world. Natalie Charles was only seventeen years old but everyone was already captivated by her existence despite having such a young age. She is still in high school and is currently studying at the Academy of Ridgerton which was considered to be a prestigious school for wealthy families like her. Her family was known in the business world for its good production of goods and related services in the economy. She was still young and doesn’t still exactly know what the world is but… she knows only one thing. It was hard for her to live in this kind of world. For the reason that she is young. Since she was still regarded as a kid, eyes were all around her, watching her every move, waiting for her to commit a simple mistake. She doesn’t intend to make one and will continue to do so until the day she dies. *Click* “Turn to the right-side Ms. Charles.” The photographer said and Natalia did as she was told. Right now, she is in a photoshoot session for a magazine that will be released in the next month’s issue. Her mother arranged this for her because of her fame that has been going on ever since she introduced her to the world. The Charles family is considered to be secretive when it comes to hiding every member of their family because of threats that come into their lives every day but when someone was able to take a single photo of Natalia eating at a restaurant with her parents. Her picture went over the internet and became a hot topic for over a month. Camelia, her mother had no choice and took that as an advantage to introduce her in the end because of the fame that was helping their business to even grow. “Okay, that's for today.” The photographer finally said while handing his camera to one of his assistants. “Thank you. You have worked hard!” She said bowing at the photographer and to the other people inside the room. The man in front of her just flashed a smile while looking at her from head to toe. The typical stare that she always encounters when she is outside and she hates it to death. She noticed that he was about to say something because he began to open his mouth but she just smiled at him so innocently as she walked away from the room. It worked, thankfully. The man didn’t bother to follow her since he knows that someone is waiting for her just outside the room. “How was your day, Miss?” Mr. Kim said when she was able to come outside. “Fine. I guess.” She simply said because she began to feel tired again. She didn’t get a good night's sleep last night because of the drama that she was watching last night. She promised herself to only finish one episode but ended up watching the series in one go and ended up staying late. Miraculously, her face was not affected by lack of sleep. “By the way Miss…” Mr. Kim talked once again as he continued to follow her to the parking lot. He is her father’s secretary and was assigned to watch her for today because everyone was busy at the company and the bodyguards that are usually accompanying her are with her mother. They could have assigned other bodyguards to her but her mother is meticulous when it comes to choosing the people surrounding her. She already told them that she could take her of herself but they insisted to bring the man with her that is why she had no choice but to oblige. “Your brother is home.” He added which made her stop walking and took a glimpse at the man that was behind her. “That stupid brother is home?” She asked making sure she heard right and the man nodded in return. She smiled wickedly after that, then, turned her head and began to walk again but now faster than before. However, when they get to arrive at the exit of the building, she saw reporters waiting outside with the cameras in each of their hands. The smile on her face faded away as he glanced at the man that seems to notice the reporters that have swarmed up in front of this building. “Wow. They don't get tired from chasing me, do they?” She asked smirking as she stared at them who still doesn’t notice that she was finally meters away from them because of the door. They cannot come in here so easily because of the security that is super strict from strangers. They had no choice but to take the exit at the back of the building. She needs to get home fast. She needs to see her stupid brother before he vanished once again. She missed him dearly but he still needs a good smack from her for leaving her alone with her parents for years. He never even showed up or even called within those following years that is why she is filled with so many emotions and she can't wait to meet him again to let it all out on him. It was already summer and looking from outside the car. She can tell that it was literally hot inside. This year is the last year of her high school life and she cannot wait for it to finally end because she can finally have a life on her own away from her parents and this life that she currently has. She sighed deeply as she mesmerized the sun following the car which she was in. It was blinding to the point that she covered the rays of the sun hitting her eyes with her hand. I wonder what you have in store for me this year? She began to wander as she noticed the car getting near the gates of their mansion. It only took a minute for Natalie to head home and when she was finally inside the house, she became frozen when she saw someone in the living room seated and reading a book in his hand. She quickly fixed her posture and glanced at the man again who was still occupied with the book that he was reading. The man was simply breathtaking. He has a slender body with long legs, dark hair, and grey eyes despite being covered slightly by his glasses. However, her imagination crashed when she realized something... “Are you, my brother?” She asked frowning because he looked like him but at the same time don’t. It made the man glance in her direction and just chuckled at her sudden question. The next thing she knows is that he put down the book at the table and stood up from his seat then went towards her. Natalie took a step back carefully, being mindful of the man’s sudden action but was surprised when he stopped in front of her staring deep into her eyes. “I am your brother.” He stated seriously which made her eyes widen and immediately covered her mouth from complete utter shock. “You did that?!” She asked in disbelief but the man doesn’t seem to get what she was talking about and tilted his head to the side, wondering what she meant by that? “How much was it? You looked so different from before. Oh my! Did you have mom's permission or dad, perhaps?” She started blabbering and smacking the hell out of his shoulder. The man was taken aback by what she was doing but he didn’t complain at all. “Is it just your eyes? No. Your nose seemed different too and lips…” Natalie stopped talking when her eyes paused towards the man’s luscious lips which made her swallow hard. “What the hell are you doing there Ethan?” Someone suddenly said, interrupting the two. Natalie immediately gazed at the man who talked out of nowhere because it sounded familiar. When she looked... “OH MY GOD! I’m so sorry!” She immediately apologized to the man in front of her and suddenly her brother pulled her away from the man. “Don’t make a move with him. I know he is handsome but he is my friend.” He stated but Natalie was dumbfounded after hearing him say that. “Uhmm. Is it really me that you should be giving a warning and not him? I am your sister in case you have forgotten for staying far too long in another county?” She asked but the man simply raised his eyebrow and smirked. “He is a good boy not like you who always wants to have what she wants no matter what happens, spoiled brat.” He stated, emphasizing the word 'spoiled brat'. It made her speechless. She doesn’t want to behave so childishly in front of her brother's visitor but she can't help it. She kicked his leg hard which made him fall to the floor. Groaning from the immense pain because she hit his bone. “STUPID BROTHER!” She shouted as she went up the stairs towards her room. She heard his brother keep on calling for his name while the man watching them, began to burst into laughter after what she did to her brother. She was embarrassed and decided to lock herself in her room. She went to her bed hurriedly and then tucked herself in her blanket. Her heart was beating fast… not because she was angry. She put her hand on her chest and it was pounding so loudly. The man from downstairs once again flashed into her mind. “Ethan, right?” She whispered biting her lip as a smile flashed on her face. “I want him.”
