Chapter Three

CHAPTER 3

~6 YEARS LATER~

"Lily, supper is ready!" Bambi's voice echoed from the house, as I was outside practicing.

I then stopped and smiled as I ran to the house in the large tree. My home since Bambi saved me.

I had the chance to return to my father, to the responsibilities of being the heir. But I finally found someone who cared for me, and not for my worth.

Bambi was like a grandmother to me, she raised me to be a strong wolf, and so I am.

My father never once admitted he loved me, nor did he show affection. I never knew what it was truly like to be a child. But Bambi showed me, she cared and loved me.

Now I live in the Northern Woods with Bambi, although I still never told her who I truly was. And I never will, seeing she'll force me to go back to my duties as the future Queen.

"Mmm, smells nice Bambi." I smiled as I walked through the door and sat down before a feast.

"What's the occasion, we never eat this much." I asked, but Bambi only smiled as she put more food out on the table.

"We have guests from the Royal Wolves. Isn't that amazing?" Bambi replied with an excited smile.

"They think that the Northern Woods is an exceptional spot to train Royal Wolves, so they have come discuss business with us. Seeing we own these Woods."

"You mean, they want to discuss strategies to spread out their people?" I asked with no interest, but that's when it clicked.

"Royal Wolves, as in from the Southern Castle?" I asked in disbelief.

"That's the one. Now I want you to dress appropriately when they arrive. None of this training outfits you wear all day."

But I couldn't concentrate on what Bambi was saying, I was too lost in thought of the Royal Wolves coming.

"Now, hurry along. They'll be here in 20 minutes. Enough time for you to freshen up." Bambi was now dragging me out of my chair towards the stairs.

I ended up walking up the stairs, accepting the fact she wants me to change for our guests.

~20 MINUTES LATER~

I was now dressed, prepared for whoever walked through those doors. I never ended up wearing a dress like Bambi had hope for, but something that'll give me advantage through this evening.

I wore a big dark hoodie, one that covered my face. I wore a cap as well, so I didn't risk anyone recognising me. Although that will be a bit surprising seeing I was 12 the last time my people saw me.

"Lily!" I heard Bambi's voice call out from down stairs. I guess they're here.

I took a deep breath in as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I then pulled the cap over my eyes, and the hoodie over my cap.

I then opened my bedroom door and made my way down stairs, thinking of possibilities of not being caught.

"And this is my granddaughter, Lily." I didn't look up to the person Bambi was introducing me to, I just kept my gaze down.

"It's nice to meet you, Lily. This is my wife, Luna, and Queen of the Southern Castle, Amber." My eyes then snapped up when I recognised that voice, and that name.

Only to come in eye contact of my father, and the wicked b***h who tried to kill me when I was a child.

My wolf was growling, itching to come free and attack her where she stood.

"And this is my Gamma, Leo. And my Beta is outside guarding the house." My father explained, still not recognising he's own child before him.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Bambi, Lily." Leo greeted with a friendly smile as he took out he's hand for us to shake. And so we did.

But I kept my eyes down. Although the b***h who tried to kill me was here for me to snap, I couldn't risk being caught.

I loved living with Bambi, she treats me like her own family. Something I never had. I wasn't going to let my anger and revenge ruin that.

I didn't reply, I didn't speak. I didn't want to get caught.

"I'm sorry, my granddaughter is shy. How about we go and begin dinner to discuss our business." Bambi explained, and thank goodness she did. It kept their curious gazes off me.

We walked into the dining room and sat down to the feast.

That's when we heard the front door opening, and so did a power smell.

I couldn't help but close my eyes as I savoured it.

Mate. Those were the only words my wolf said to me as I felt my mate near.

"Oh, here he is. Bambi, Lily, I'd like to introduce to you my strongest warrior and Beta. Elliot."
