As we left the city lights behind, they blurred into a strange glow. We'd been on the road for about an hour, and Dorian didn't say much, lost in his thoughts, probably talking, fighting, or even confessing to the ghosts in his mind. I was quiet too, not ready for more truths. It shook my confidence to learn that no one in my life had been entirely honest with me. Why did they have to wait so long?
