Time slipped away unnoticed as Alex and I conversed, our journey guiding us to the hotel where we had been invited. Handing the car over to the valet, the staff efficiently retrieved our belongings from the trunk, destined for the rooms awaiting us.
Despite the seaside setting, the hotel bustled with activity, its interior exuding opulence. Alex and I strolled side by side, making our way to the hotel lobby adorned with genuine flowers.
The hotel manager greeted us as if recognizing us instantly upon our entrance. With a friendly demeanor, he approached and shook both our hands.
"Welcome, Mr. Anderson will meet you in the private lounge around seven o'clock. Let me present the keys to your rooms," he announced, offering the keys pulled from his black jacket pocket to both Alex and me.
